This just about answers what I was wondering - thanks. It was just that in my experience on UA 763s, the old Y seats were still onboard and I wanted to verify if they had indeed all been swapped out. It was just an overall unpleasant experience and I've avoided that type since. So I'm guessing your...Jump to post

Everything with Polaris has new Y/Y+ seats.
Anyone else notice the repeated “treble seven”?Jump to post
A slightly naff planespotting programme is better than no planespotting programme... even if it caused my wife to leave the room through boredom! I did like the comment about the Icelandair 757 full of fish.Jump to post
I’m having visions of some 787 wings being accidentally fitted to the aircraft or something!Jump to post

According to La Tribune, AF is poised to order A220 by end of July. A380 are to be replaced either by B787 or A330neo, decision to be made later this year. https://www.latribune.fr/entreprises-finance/services/transport-logistique/air-france-travaille-sur-une-commande-d-avions-fin-juillet-823498.ht...Jump to post
Thank you for sharing. I have not yet tried Aeroflot and their long haul product. I might be wrong but studied their longhaul after using Momondo to search for flights. Apparently transfer at Sheremetjevo requires you to go landside and thus you need a visa so Aeroflot is out of the question. No, I...Jump to post
Hi, Does anyone know about Air Malta seating? I booked my LGW to MLA flight (A320) and had to perform the seat selection over the phone with the call centre as the ticket was third-party and it’s impossible to manage the reservation online. I was told that I could only book row 28 as I am travelling...Jump to post
Nobody in the UK knows what “Brexit” means... a week after the supposed leave date.
My bet: in ten years’ time, A.net will still be asking what will happen to UK air travel after Brexit
Thrones are the four C seats that don’t have neighbors. I like that they’ve used warm colors. Oh I see - what brilliant seats to have. I thought it meant the colloquial term throne, and that this little C section of the plane has four toilets! That would surely be a record on the toilet-to-seat rat...Jump to post
Travelling on a 'proper' airline does not mean you will fare any better, or worse, in this sort of case. I've encountered similarly frustrating IT issues with several mainline carriers, including three of those flying into MSQ. When approached they did sod all about it in advance, even with one car...Jump to post
Sorry, I didn’t want this to get into a debate about airline pricing structures. Just interested if anyone had dealt with a booking being later split into two different one-way booking references, and how long it took the airline to sort out. I didn’t pay £18 for the original WizzAir flights, it was...Jump to post
If the actual destination is MSQ, why didn't you buy a ticket there? Even now I can see itineraries at around 160 GBP with OS. Because the original plan was to arrive in Vilnius and take the train across the border... but it needed a visa whereas flying into Minsk didn’t. I consulted the group and ...Jump to post
What you should do? Don't fly low cost in the future. Simple. I would just try to cancel the flight and flight alternative tickets with a better airline. We’d lose too much - not sure if the others in the group would be too happy forking out for additional flights! Plus, the alternatives UK - Lithu...Jump to post
Hi all, I wonder if any of you can answer this Wizzair question, or whether any of you have experienced something similar...? I had return flights LTN - VNO - LTN booked for six people at the end of May 2019. All good. But then about a month ago Wizzair cancelled the outbound flight and changed us t...Jump to post
Just wondering, is Boeing covering the costs of all the wet-leasing (for the B737 MAX 8) - I think I read somewhere that RR are paying for the 787 wet-leases. I don't know if they are but I read somewhere that Norwegian plans on sending Boeing a bill for the MAX-related expenses. Surely they should...Jump to post
Ps114 is scheduled to depart lgw at 0300. The departures either side of this flight are at 2200 and 0600. Just find it odd that theres this random flight in the middle of the night. Does Gatwick not have a departure curfew? That’s if it takes off... I was booked on it last year and it got cancelled...Jump to post
I once self-connected at DUB. Arrived on FR from EIN and flew out on DY to PVD. That's all the way at the other end of the airport. From the arrivals in T1 it's one-way through immigration after which you end up landside, there's no option to stay airside. For a good drink there's a nice pub just o...Jump to post
Can confirm self connections at DUB cannot use "flight connections" and have to leave through arrivals and head back in via the usual departure routines. It's quite a long walk from RYR's usual gates to the main halls. By the time you've walked from pier D out through arrivals, up to depa...Jump to post
Since you're going to be there for a while you may as well be comfortable. A tip for you, when you go through security in Dublin, don't go the FR gates (they about 10-15 mins walk away), the reason if you go there you can't come back and there's not much there. There's a nice outside (ie fresh air)...Jump to post
Yes, you have to go fully out and back in again. No transfer facility available. Not a problem, we expected that this would be the case. Thanks. Any idea where the best place to spend a couple of hours might be? The criteria is the least expensive pints of beer and (if possible) a view of the tarmac.Jump to post
They are not actually rectangles. The engine cowlings were meant to replicate the fuselage. The whole engine cowling should be white on the top and the blue cheatline should divide the white top from the silver (grey) underside. The engine cowlings were the fuselage colours in miniature. That’s nev...Jump to post
Hi all, Having flown FR a gazillion times, I know full well that they’re not a “connecting” airline. However, I had to book travel to Manchester with a friend who lives near STN so the cheapest option seemed to be to fly STN-DUB-MAN ! We have two and a half hours between flights in Dublin (is there ...Jump to post
This looks amazing! Right up my street... planes and craft beer together?! Then I saw the price... looks like my beer trips will continue to be Ryanair flights to Warsaw Modlin for the time being!Jump to post
Dreadful - I don’t think anyone can defend Ryanair on this... (coming from a usual FR-fan). Reminds me of that old tale of the the racist on the SAA flight but not with the nice ending ☹️Jump to post
Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has any information on Air Malta’s seat plans... I’ve booked the family on a flight from SEN to MLA (claims to be operated by an A320). I called them to select seats and the guy on the phone said the only ones in the back half of the plane which were available to select w...Jump to post
I know everyone’s different... but I just paid £30 for a return flight to Germany so I’ll go along with whatever their latest rules are.Jump to post
Can’t say anything about long haul, but the LHR-WAW-KBP I did this year was great. All flights on-time, the service was fairly basic but the planes were clean and the (purchased) Polish drinks were good!Jump to post
I wonder whether the dedicated airlines will go altogether? Will companies like Thomas Cook just book random planes from whichever airlines they can find cheaply to get their passengers to their destinations? Seems they are doing quite a bit of outsourcing this year already, to the likes of Smartlyn...Jump to post
