Re: Airports with terminals or other structures very close to runway

Someone needs to post the picture of the BA A380 that during taxi got it's wing stuck in a building at JNB.

I'm too much of a Luddite to figure out how to post a picture on this site.

Re: Will American ever start CVG-LAX/PHX or MIA-GRR?

Lots of pax daily does not necessarily equate to high yields.

There are many routes with lots of pax and trash yields (MCO comes to mind)

There are also routes with not many passengers but very good yields per passenger.

Re: Why does the A380 work so well for EK and not as much for EY/QR

For DXB it makes sense but I still don't understand how they can operate an A380 on the likes of JFK-MXP or BKK-HKG? I bet there are some other 5th freedom routes that they have that operate with an A380. Well I flew on the EK 380 from BKK to HKG two years ago and it was completely packed! And dirt...

Re: Will top 3 US carriers be able to match the ME 3 in more flights to Asian, ME and African markets

The US3 have very good coverage throughout Asia. Since SE Asia pretty much requires a stop due to distance (thus SQ and TG pulled their non-stops due to economics), these routes are primarily covered by JV partners and code-share partners. Every airline does not have to fly to every city in the worl...

With respect to SAV (my home airport), The legacies and B6 already serve ATL, DFW, CLT, JFK, ORD, EWR, BOS, LGA, DTW, DCA, IAD, PHL, HOU almost all of them multiple times per day and with bigger than 50 seaters.
