New Years Eve 2001 - I was just finishing making a delivery for an ice company I worked for during the summer and breaks, and when I came up on an intersection, the light changed (and still does, to this very day) extremely fast, and I was right at the white line, no chance of stopping (I weighed be...

If the wife and I can get our vacation weeks to line up correctly, we're heading off to Myrtle Beach for a week with the kid. We last went back before we got married, so this will be our first real vacation since then. It will probably also be our last one for a while, too.

RE: Attitudes About Working On Christmas?

I'm in retail, so the holiday's has always been a given. The trade off of being able to have days off in the middle of the week (when the local ski slopes are empty) is very much worth it. Although, I did have to make a run into town this morning to check on the store, which even in itself isn't tha...

Fuselage Mounted Engines And FOD Related Damage

What, if any, is the FOD damage possibility that faces a fuselage mounted engine (e.g. MD-88, Lear 45, CRJ series) in terms of operating on a less than optimal runway surface? I know that on 737 Classics, there were kits available specifically for dealing wi...

RE: Could Boeing Do A More Radical 737 Upgrade?

I had always agreed with the thought that a "makeover" of the 737 could be a hit. To me, it's sort of a compromise between bleeding edge tech like the 787 and the tried and true work on the earlier 737's. With the longer variants (-700, -800, and -900) a landing gear reconfigure could be done with a...
