I imagine IAD-MIA will become year round at some point for connections. But its a process. EWR is still major hub to Europe, so international connections may continue to go through EWR regardless.

Aviation wise, I see just under 50 flights scheduled to arrive tonight during that time. There may not be as many on Thursday perhaps, but how many flights might be affected? Will there be any ripple effect at other airports? Will there be any cancellations or just delays?

Here come the AA transcon cuts at JFK! DCA BOS 15 daily on a LCC is a ludicrous waste of slots. Looking at the MSJ website, they don't even list the 70 anymore. All they list is the 90 and a 100 version with 76 seats. Additionally, they don't have any detailed drawings for the 90. Have they abandoned the 70 and 90 and shifted to a 100 with less seats and MTOW?

I think the hub announcement is more about international connectivity than anything else. As mentioned before it is at an ideal distance for 321 to western Europe and has a large O&D base. This is sort of similar to what UA is in the process of doing at EWR to make the best use of limited space....

Has AA reduced flights as a result of construction at DCA? I find it interesting they increased activity at IAD while decreasing at DCA. I wonder if the new LAX service drew some folks away from the DCA flight. And I wonder if UA lost any on their LAX flight. AA.com is showing 2x daily 738 IAD-LAX ...
