Smoke emergency evacuation. At approximately 9:40 a.m. Mon, American flight 5082, CRJ-200 jet aircraft from Tallahassee, landed at DCA then declared an emergency due to reports of smoke in the cabin. It’ll be interesting to see if IAD-SEA can really sustain all that capacity. With UA at 4x, AS at 3x and DL at 2x, that’s nine flights a day in summer. Even considering connecting flows at each end, it’s a lot of capacity. Five years ago, there were only 3x flights daily on this route...all UA. IAD...Jump to post
For Airbus, between the 320neo and 321neo and then the 321neo to the 338. Each of those gaps are roughly 45 seats depending on how you count. 45 seats is if you can't count. It is more like 150 seats or 65% greater. The A321 sits 240 passengers with 28inch pitch and 18inch wide seats. That is 500 s...Jump to post
With discussions around 757 replacement, the 321neo, the Max debacle, NMA, etc. it is easy to get lost. As I look at what both Airbus and Boeing have to offer in terms of Neo/Max aircraft, there still remain some pretty big gaps in capacity. I could see a large number of DTW flights sticking around for OO given their maintenance bases in SBN and FWA. In addition to DL, OO also flies for UA into both and AA into FWA. Best guess for realignment. SKW will take over all of CPZ flying, as this is all out west. SKW will leave NE corridor to RPA (JFK/LGA/BOS/DCA) and will swap some east CRJ200 flying for EDV CRJ200 flying out west(ie., ATW, AVL, MYR, SWF, TUL, YWG).
