Re: Caribbean aviation thread - 2018

[I suspect when people say this, they usually mean they'd like to see a LI/BW w/o political interference w/o considering the financial impact of privatization. Few will recognize that the govt's are the only entity in the Caribbean both willing and able to withstand the potentially significant loss...

Re: Caribbean aviation thread - 2018

I think that folks are accustomed to those hours as unless one takes the early bird LIAT its hard to know when one will arrive. LI usually starts the day early, but its sometimes down hill after that. I am always surprised to see how many are on those "crack of dawn" flights in the Easter...

Sad to see A321's go on MIA-POS, they are like chalk to cheese compared to 738's on EWR-MIA. Love the IFE's. LI's service OGL-BGI and onward with B6 to FLL or JFK is a great option for Guyanese now. OGL is a breeze and my choice as I live close by. LI's ATR's are very smooth and surprisingly on tim...

Runway to be extended by about 1550 metres, existing terminal will now be for departures only and new arrivals terminal is being built. Please find articles below:...

Liat is circling OGL right now, flew over my home about 5 times already. OGL is overcast and drizzling rain. I am not sure what the protocol is but it seems wise to just divert to GEO as it's just a few minutes away and ILS capable, then possibly return to OGL later.
