RE: British Royal Family Flying SQ For State Visit

All Royal Travel is put out to tender, but minor royals (ie not the Queen*) usually travel scheduled. It's not been unknown for Royalty to use Easyjet and Flybe for domestic travel. *The Queen does use scheduled rail services to Sandringham from London, a first class compartment is usually closed of...

RE: How Do You Book On Ryanair Using A Maestro Car

UK Maestro is a bit of an odd thing, generally it's not widely accepted outside of the UK because the card number is longer then most credit cards.... I know with HSBC the number was your sort code and account number preceded by 6759. Also you had an additional 'Issue Number' field. Most UK banks ha...

RE: Could An "Artificial Island Airport" Replace LHR?

Something else to bear in mind is that Heathrow is well positioned for road access from much of the UK. Boris Island isn't anywhere near as convenient. You'd be looking at an extra hour's drive around the M25 (on a good day, which is rare) in order to access it. By public transport you'd have to go ...

A couple of less Exotic ones I know of locally. Air Transat does Exeter - Newcastle - Toronto (on an A310) Thomson also do Exeter - Manchester - Barbados on a 767 I'm not sure if this is down to loadings or getting a loaded and fuelled A310/B767 out of Exeter's relatively short runway. There is a scheduled Helicopter Service from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly, run by British International. It isn't cheap (£110 day return, £190 period return) for a 20 minute flight but I am tempted to give it a try if I can afford it!  <img src="http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/g...
