I know they are scheduled for retirement just after thanksgiving, but do we know what the last flights will be out of SFB and LAS? I am guessing it will probably be SFB.. I dont get how LAL cannot attract all those European charters VS SFB... it is way closer to Disney, closer to the resorts in the Davenport/Celebration area and also closer to TPA and Busch Gardens?? Someone in the airports PR is not doing their job... I did google maps to Magic Kingdom.. LAL is 45....

I believe the Piedmont DH8's were (are) based out of SBY.. that's where the mx base was...
I remember PHL being the DH8 capital back in the day... they seemed to be everywhere. Flew them several times PHL-BWI and PHL-MDT

IIRC, the 19-seaters were doomed pretty much when they were put under part 121 regulations (I think they were 135 before).. with the added maintenance costs and everything else, it kind of killed them off

There should be no issues.. ACY has arrestor cables on their main runway and they retract into the pavement. They are only up when the F-16's take off and land and are controlled by the ATCT

Is there no room to extend the current cross-wind runway?

I understand what he means though, when we do work on the main runway, it leaves the 6144' cross-wind runway as only option, and that doesnt work for some a/c. This is why most of the work gets done from 0000-0500
