Are there even 16 different commercial aircraft being produced?Jump to post
This was decided 20 years ago. I have it on good authority, I heard straight from the mouth of a senior VP of flight operations at a major airline, that Boeing refused (for any price) to put the 767-400 cockpit into new build 757s and 767-300s in the late 90s/early 2000s. And people wonder why the ...Jump to post
I think the delaying of the retirement of the 747 would rest on LH, CA or KE since they operate the 748 and those arte still pretty young even compared to QFs 744ERs. The 747 offers much more capacity than the 789 so I'd imagine the Project Sunrise order to include some base models to act as a 747 r...Jump to post
A thread about CHS got me wondering about this. Are there any US airports with US military installations integrated/sharing the airfield? The only ones I can think of are CHS with Charleston AFB and GRK with Gray Army Air Field. Im not talking about airports that happen to have ANG or reserve units,...Jump to post
Thats pretty cool! And thats coming from a straight guy! Good on Condor!
I know a one time 99% load factor is not indicative of how well a route is doing but I'm happy to see MSY getting some good international love.
There was a girl (excuse me, woman) who posted here quite a lot - way back when, but I cannot recall her user name. She lived (lives still) in New Orleans. --- Fact is, it takes a woman of exceptional fortitude to tolerate the male-dominated world of online aviation forums; too many guys go scent-m...Jump to post

realistically, no-one else needs Roc, right? On paper, it appears to have an even greater maximum payload figure than the An-225...No idea about the comparison of payload-range scope, though. Considering if it could carry a greatly-oversized piece of cargo compared to the 225, perhaps an oversized ...Jump to post
Not knowing anything about the growth of the SLC metro population and economy, would the area really support a UA-in-DEN sized operation? Denver is growing like a weed.Jump to post
LA is too fake and harder to get around.
Perhaps they need to increase the cycles of some A380's due End of Lease in a few years and no second hand market? ... What's the advantage in increasing the cycles for a carrier? As mentioned, there is no secondhand market. So why not utilize the airframe enough to at least break even for the asso...Jump to post
Silly stunt would be flying between DXB and DWC Yeah I would like to see a free A380 shuttle service from DXB to DWC in order to catch a connection. If that isn't short enough, EK could offer an A380 shuttle from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1. It would be the pilot's choice whether to take off and land,...Jump to post
The VC25 is an extremely modified 747. All of the mods add tons of weight like communication equipment, bulletproofing, emp proofing, defensive countermeasures, on board medical facility, the spare parts it carries in the belly, etc..Jump to post
So a Pregnant woman who is from South Africa and her husband is from Mongolia, gives birth to a baby on a Air Koryo flight from North Korea to Thailand, then what citizenship will the child get? You need to check the law of: South Africa Mongolia North Korea Thailand And whatever country the aircra...Jump to post
This site is really going south. Are people so lazy they can't use the search function (not always helpful, but try it first), or Google? I can find virtually anything in the world with three clicks or less. I hate when people say that. This site is as much of a resource as Google. And the search f...Jump to post

When I was a WN CSA, I always issued jackets at the counter. More people than naught turned it down but I would kinda force the concept kf "have it and dont need it" on them. Id write the gate on the front, and slip in the boarding pass (and receipt/drink coupon/etc...) and staple the bag ...Jump to post
Doesnt matter on if people are connecting or Not. When an airline decides to cancel a flight, its because its the best thing for 1) safety 2)smoothness of the overall operation 3)asset management. And everyone above is correct. Just based on the laws of math, the more variables you have in anything ...Jump to post
I don’t know if this would happen at the air show but I expect United to order the E 195 e2 as a replacement for the 737-700s and their really old a319 and a320s. Those planes are getting really old and will need to start the replacement cycle in the next few years. The E2 program or whatever it mi...Jump to post
Or, make it illegal to transport trash across city limits. But that was the best way I could make extra money for my city in SimCity4. Now y'all want to kill the economy of Garbotroplis too? I'd like to hear new developments from the electric commuter aircraft world and the start-up SST manufacturers.
And I'll always have my fingers crossed for a United A220 order.
But I believe this will be a boring PAS.
I used this in a Motivational Monday email when I was an intern at WN.
It's very inspiring and still gives me goosebumps!
Opan Safety Style!
I'd say the 500 with winglets and eyebrow windows is my favorite. A lot of my flights as a kid were on CO 735s IAH-SNA. I'd say 600 next since its pretty much the 500 of the NGs, but ive never flown on one so i guess the 700 is next since it has great takeoff performance and range. Idk what it is ab...Jump to post

Would love to see a picture if anybody has one. https://i.imgur.com/zJNBSpY.jpg Nice photo. Does anyone know what's that wire running from under cockpit to the bridge ? My guess is it is to provide power onboard when engines are not running so that APUs are not needed to prevent pollution/noise ? I...Jump to post

Good for them!
It looks like S7 flies Vladivostok-NRT and is the only one on that route, theres probably some room there for NH. I wonder if Moscow will be served from HND; is that possible under the Russia/Japan bilateral?
763s, A330s, and a lone 777. Todays DL lineup vs NWs lineup at AMS is boring.Jump to post
I'm not a fan of diverting to DCA at 3:39pm today. A tornado warning was issued for us at 3:45, and the weather was pretty ominous by 3:30. If they couldn't land at IAD, choosing to land where the storm was heading seems like it wasn't all the way thought out. I wonder if it was approaching a fuel ...Jump to post
While the A350 is a fantastic airplane and would make a great 772 replacement for UA, I'm in no hurry to see the sCO GE-powered frames leave.
Part of me is also in the camp UA will use the deposits to switch to the A321LR or even the A220. But I know it won't happen
