[quote="rbavfan" As for offering connections from South American countries to Asia. They cannot. Non of the South American countries would allow them to sell a ticket such as GIG-HNL-HND where the passenger is flying just to HND from GIG. They also can't sell it that way if they are stayin...Jump to post
This flight report from last month shows LP 763 configured with 18C 220Y.

Will they be transfered to JJ and replaced by 788?
Does anyone have a clue on how is the LF for AKL-EZE? Next year Argentina Authority will move half of the international flights from AEP to EZE (and from 2018 all international flights will move to EZE). Hope this movement brings more connecting opportunities for NZ to cities such as SAO, RIO and SCL.Jump to post

We use to swap 744 to A343 out of JNB on a seasonal basis every year. It is a seasonal market, they probably can make more money with the A380 on different routes. Thats a different story, LH did the same. As I said eralier the question is why you change a running system in its prime, the high seas...Jump to post
BA operates the 77W and 788 to GRU and GIG, respectively. To claim that their aircraft are old is being pedantic, at best. Especially when JJ operates the same 77W on the route. Wrong you are! I do not claim. I actually FLY ON THEM. The GRU route is a B772 Route now and some of those ARE really old...Jump to post
Sorry but you are not entirely accurate. BA's product to GRU is poor. I use them about three times a year (plus at least once to GIG). Their aircrafts are old and the only thing premium is the price. BA operates the 77W and 788 to GRU and GIG, respectively. To claim that their aircraft are old is b...Jump to post

I doubt it some routes would ever happen. Eg.: EZE-PER. Whats the chance? There are even worse like TLV, PRG IAD, ZRH, JNB and CPT. Norwegian must create demand to make it a real trip, lowering prices to make it interesting for tourists to go. Some routes make total sense, such as all the Brazilian...Jump to post
Nice to see UX receiving new widebody.
I wonder when they will return to SCL, the largest gap in their network. MEX should be on the radar too.
GRU and JNB also gets multiple planes from american and europeans carriers parked during the day. AA is even building a 100 million dollars hangar in GRU to do maintenaince during long ground times. Airlines schedule this way as high-yield business passengers prefer to fly overnight and not lose a p...Jump to post
This peak season Brazilian beaches will receive many south american tourists. The route network will be impressive: GOL will increase capacity on EZE-FLN, EZE-NVT, EZE-GIG, EZE-BPS, EZE-SSA, EZE-MCZ, EZE-REC, EZE-NAT, EZE-FOR, COR-REC, COR-GIG, ROS-GIG, MVD-SSA, SCL-SSA, SCL-GIG, MVD-GIG and IGU-REC...Jump to post
I checked the FAO wikipedia page and there is not a single flight between Faro and Italy. So truly out of the box. I reckon this will be sold mostly to Italian tour-operators. I was on vacations in Europe last month and needed to fly FAO-NAP and was surprised no airline flew that route even on high...Jump to post
I'll give this route a shot. I see it working due to: - Europeans more willing to explore new leisure destinations as Turkey, North Africa, Egypt are stil hostile for tourists. - GOL feed to main markets which have mixed POS (brazilians and europeans flying), neither IB nor AZ had that feed. - North...Jump to post
GOL will offer immediate connections to SSA, REC, NAT, BEL and MAO for AFKL pax. By may next year it will increase its seat capacity in FOR by 35%. I can see the domestic feed growing to more destinations such as BSB, GYN and SLZ. . A couple years ago I was in FCO and there was an Alitalia plane boa...Jump to post

4 times. Three on GOL due to weather conditions. One in BRA due to crew. - Just last week was supposed to land at CXJ and we diverted to POA (130km/80mi away). As I was going to a city in between them I rented a car and drove myself. The airline offered busses to take passengers to CXJ airport. - La...Jump to post

In any case DL is launching JFK-GIG, replacing LATAM.
I always thought the next step in North America for AF Caribbean A320 would be JFK or YUL due to stronger local demand.
ATL makes more sense for connecting though.

That has to do with the wine industry biz traffic. This is the sixth international service for MDZ, (LA to SCL & LIM, G3 to GRU, H2 to SCL and H8 to SCL).
I wouldn't compare Brazil's lax standards to link SDU with EYW. Gol takes the risk of putting a 737 in the water if there is an engine out on takeoff.. Any airlines would never do take that risk. Even on the "jungle" that we live called Brazil. GOL's 738 flying in and out SDU are often pa...Jump to post
I'd prefer to drive around an hour or more to fly from VCP which is 150km from SP downtown if there were more airlines/flight options from there, which is faster than reach GRU even if you're in Sao Paulo downtown due the traffic nightmare. I would do anything to avoid that pig farm which is GRU. F...Jump to post

Just to add to your comments regarding cruise passengers, Callao which is the port for Lima is not a major cruise turnaround port so therefore LGW to Lima will not be going after any cruise business on the route, Santiago Chile on the other hand is a cruise turnaround port during the southern summe...Jump to post
Not long ago Emirates and Gol airlines signed a codeshare agreement so it seems logical that withe the new summer timetable EK is increasing the number of seat in the market, I won't be surprise if by winter schedule we see a 10-14 weekly frequency in the GRU route if they partnership works good fo...Jump to post
