I just read that Allegiant Air is discontinueing MSY-JAX in January on their Facebook page.Someone said the flight was always

We all know no MD-80s will be repainted.My question is will there be some Boeing 757s and Boeing 767-300ER that will not get new paint since they are slowly approaching retirement.What American Eagle planes will not be repainted. I hope the retro Boeing 737-800 will keep its retro livery.

Southwest almost has a monopoly at Midway,Delta has a few flights,then there is Volaris. There was a reincarnation of Midway Airlines
they were to focus at MDW but instead went to RDU and shut down after 9-11.

I have noticed when AA retires a plane once it gets to the desert like Rosewell the red stripe is always painted blue.
I have seen that on their 727s,DC-10s,767s,757s,Fokker F100s, and now their MD-80s.
When AA parked their 707s in the early 1980s the red stripe did not get painted blue it stayed red.

AA has been retireing their MD-80 fleet for the last 3 years with the last of them to be retired by the end of of 2017 maybe early 2018.
So far the ones that have been retired how many got resold and may still fly and how many have been scrapped?
