A Few Questions About Pan Am

I noticed when I read timetables in the 1970s Pan Am had flight 551/552 was SJU-MIA-<acronym title="Tampa - Interna...

speaking of National's DC-8s to LHR,I was wondering, They had a fleet of DC-8s and two stretch DC-8-61s. Did their current fleet of DC-8s not have the range to do <acronym title="Miami - International (MIA / KMIA), USA - Flori...

RE: Pan Am 20 Years Gone

Hard to believe Pan Am has been gone 20 years, seeing the logo on rail cars is not the same. In pre-deregulation
Pan Am always made a attempt to get domestic routes,I noticed Pan Am never served Canada,Did they ever apply
for rights to fly to Canada like Toronto and Montreal etc.

I just got my TWA January 1953 Timetable and it shows Martin 404s operating into those 3 Ohio cities. National Arlines In Key West Florida

I noticed that in the late 1960s National Airlines did serve Key West with one flight a day from Miami using a Lockheed Prop Jet Electra until 1968 then a Boeing 727-100 until they dropped EYW in about 1971. I am looking...

It seems to me the only flights from Miami to Europe in the 1960s was BOAC from MIA-<acronym title="San Diego - Miramar MCAS (NAS) / Mitscher Field (NKX / KNKX), USA - California AND Mountain View - Moffett Federal Airfield...

speaking of bizarre I remember in the late 1970s there was one flight that passed through PHL but not vice versa.I saw a lot of that with National in the end. It's a mystery to me.

National Airlines(Sun King) Toward The End

In the late 1970s I noticed National really cut back. They dropped service to Boston,Philadelphia,Baltimore which were never really focus cities for National but more of a add on city,Their focus I think was New York City,Washington National to Florida, who could forget the milk runs that stopped in ...

RE: TWA In Zanesville,Marion,Mansfeild Ohio

I just purchsed a TWA timetable January 1953 off Ebay from Dave Keller,It shows service to these
three stations. TWA discontinued service to these staions in June 1953.I guess they could not compete
with Lake Central and BTW I think TWA retired their DC-3s in 1953.

I am curious as to why JetBlue did not make Washington Dulles more of a focus city when Independence Air ceased operations in 2006.

TWA In Zanesville,Marion,Mansfeild Ohio

Seeing fronts of TWA timetables in the early 1950s saying now serving Zanesville ohio and then Marion Ohio and also TWA served Mansfeild Ohio but didn't last long.I am curious as to what routes TWA flew and what type of aircraft served these smaller Ohio towns. I find it hard to believe they had a L...
