It's more of a stats project. The project just has to show the use of statistical math in a certiain area/subject.
Jump to postI want to do a math project in my IB Math Studies course that has something to do with aviation. The project needs to include lots of statistics on aviation. An example that I came up with is: How does an airline's financial security relate to the diversity ...
Jump to postJust a quick question...
Everytime I have been in a light weight aircraft it has always taken two or three tries to get the engine started, even newer aircraft. Why does my dad's car start on the first try, but a single engine aircraft takes 2 or 3 times? Thanks!
Hello, I have heard in other posts about signaling devices on aircraft to tell other planes which way they are turning. Where are these located on the aircraft? Where are the controls for these located in the flightdeck? And-Do all commercial planes have these?
Jump to postHello,
Does anyone know a site that I could find realistic sounds of a turbo-prop or a jet starting(actual full startup procedure) or taxiing, or possibly the inflight announcments? Thanks for all of your help!
This summer, I am thinking about going to an airport to spot. What major airports have observation decks open to the public? Thanks!
Jump to postHello,
I have always wondered what that distinct smell is that hits you once you board the aircraft. Some have told me it is the oxygen, while others told me that it is just coffee. If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Try http://www.trip.com When flights are over large bodies of water it registers as "no map found".

Jump to postDo the RR engines on 767's have any restrictions due to their lower thrust? How come few airlines choose that engine?
Jump to postDoes anone know where I can download a safety video from an airline? Any paticular website or link? Thank you.
Jump to postI know I have brought this up in the forums before, but I have heard the A320 has cold weather performance problems, and its so called "death computer". Whereas the 737 has its unproven rudder problem. Have all of these problems been fixed?
Jump to postFirst of all, PLEASE DO NOT turn this into an A vs. B war. Anyway, I am starting an airline for my business class, and I am trying to decide between the 737 and the 320. I know the 320 has a wider cabin and cruising speed, and the 737 has a higher cruising altitude. Any other "details" I should know...
Jump to postI kind of feel stupid for writing this, but somehow I have got the font size when I go to a.net really large. Could someone please tell me how to get it back to normal? Thanks in advance.
Jump to postI really like Horizon Air's 20th anniversary edition. It is pretty interesting, and it interviews flight attendants, pilots, and ground crew. I also think United's "Hemispheres" is really well done.
Jump to postThis isn't so much a dream, but the night before the attacks I was thinking about how AA hadn't had a crash in a long time......eerie.

As I'm sure you know, the MD-80 series planes have two wngines, therefore two generators.A plane can easily operate w/ one generator.A generator(as long as the other one is operable) is on the MEL. Hope I could help.
Jump to postI have seen, on boeing's website, that they are developing a 717-100 and a 717-300. They are also working on longer-range varients of the 757-200/300 and the 767 models.
Jump to postGreat report luftaom! Your attention to detail is fantastic.
Jump to postWhat exactly do you mean by "cost structure"? I am talking about the 110 seat version, if that helps at all.
Thank you.
Thank you very much, all of your posts were very informative.
Jump to postIf an airline ordered a 762 today would it come w/ the new interior and the 764/777's new overhead bin style? Also, Can a 762 handle PTV's in every seat?
Jump to postThank you Woodsboy, The reason I asked this is because an Air Canada F/A told me that that AC is worried about the winter performance. Thank you for the reply.
Jump to postI have heard that the A320's winter performance is not too good. Is this true? Also, how is the 737NG's winter performance?
Jump to postMy niece, who is 2, loves coffee. She drinks at least 1 cup a day.
Jump to postI totally agree, today my orchestra teacher(knowing my interest in aviation) asked why this was not in effect. She freaked when I told her many commuter aircraft don't even have doors to the flight deck, but only a small curtain.
Jump to postEarly this morning, I was half asleep but remember hearing about an airplane hitting the Pentagon. I really thought nothing of it(thinking it was a small private plane, caused by accident). Then during history, the principal announced over the intercom,"It has come to my attention that our nation ha...
Jump to postHello, I was wondering lately how airlines determine their fares. One day they might be $220.37 and the next day they will be $257.79, why can't they just have one steady fare?

Hello all, I have decided that I am going to take a trip to a nearby major airport. I have narrowed my choices to the following: MEM, MCI, OKC, LIT, and Tulsa(TUL?). Which airport is the best, I mean in terms of variety and good spotting. Also, are there any hotels overlooking the airport? Thank you!
Jump to postI believe one of the APU's is located under the first officer, thats what the ramp agent told me anyway.
Jump to postI believe those are the airconditioning hoses, that provide you guessed it airconditioning to the aircraft while it is at the gate.
Jump to postA few weeks ago, I dreamed that I was on a a TWA DC-9 flight, and we landed at the wrong airport(sound familiar? ), then we didn't have any APU or ground power so we couldn't take off.
Great trip report! I really enjoyed all of the details.
Jump to postWhat aircraft are used on this route(ORD-CDG-ORD)?
Also, does this aircraft have PTV's? thank you!
I really like the B742 panel. I think it has a very classic feeling to it.
Jump to postI believe concorde's passenger door's are translating, which can be found on the 777 and all airbus aircraft.
Jump to postEverytime I spot I ask the CSR if I can go down the jet bridge and watch them shut the door, about 90% of the time I get turned down. My question is, Is the reason I almost always get tuned down because the CSR just doesn't feel like taking me down or is it against the FAA? Also, is there anything I...
