Re: UA rebanking of IAH - fully loaded or just a skeleton?

I am curious if the UA IAH-SYD announcement could be an indicator that maybe the rebanking is already showing benefits for IAH, I know that it is too early to tell, but I see this addition as a good sign.

No, no chance at all. Would prolly be downgauged if it did well.

Why downgauged, I think it is a perfect route for a 789.

As everyone says, this is hitting by surprise. We expected to hear a Houston-Shanghai route or Houston-Delhi or even Houston-Tel Aviv. But instead we hear Houston-Sydney. It's about time United steps into the Asia-Pacific market other than Tokyo from Houston. It's also weird when you compare the IA...

In all honesty that would be an empty comparison. "Normal," i.e., without Harvey, could have been planned as a 5% increase for all we know. If IAH is flat, that'd something worth celebrating. True, but I honestly think that IAH will likely be over Harvey by this time next year. Whatever t...

IAH will be out of service for a while and may not ever get back to original form. There are many spare planes all over the system. That is not how floods work. It isn't like getting a little water in your basement. Once the water dries then all is well. If that were the case then Louisiana would have been fine. Water ruins things. Depending on the severity of the flooding, many still standing structures will have to be torn do...
