RE: How Near Is The End?

It could be either one, but here's what will probably happen.......the TWA name will disappear but it will be a long time before everything is completely consolidated i.e. the repainting of TWA's fleet.

No, AA will repaint every piece of TWA hardware. And I expect DCAir to have it's own livery, but I dunno about the shuttle service.

I hope AA really sticks it to karabu.........this man killed TWA! Maybe not everyone here likes AA (I do though), but I too have the feeling AA is about to give Icahn a taste of his own medicine.......and for that I applaude AA!!!!!!!!!!

RE: About DC Air

who knows right now, alot will depend on whether to TWA-AA deals goes through or not, then we should know more. Expect a mix of RJ's and small airliners like the F-100 or 737. And yes, DCAir will be based in DC, at reagen where it will get USAirways slots there. I believe it will be a full service c...

I'm sure there are much more qualified people to explain this than me, like "TWAneedsNOhelp"........I'm sure he could explain it way better than me but I'll try. When Carl Icahn realized he was going to be ousted from his lofty perch atop TWA, he constructed a deal through another company he owned, ...

RE: Fokker Back In Production

That would be great to see the F-100 back in production - greatest airliner ever if you ask me! But boeing has a massive head start and I think the impact on their sales would be minimal. What would be a real moneymaker for a Fokker would be the millions of spare parts they could sell. Fokker parts ...

What will become of the Karabu ticketing agreement that I think was a major cause of TWA's ruin? Will American have to deal with that too? I hope not!

I know they operate 727's, there are quite a few photos of them on this site. I have older information that says they served CVG and EWR but that data is somewhat outdated.

Who says older iron is undesirable?......Haha and CactusA319 is absolutely right........aircraft being resold by an airline or leasing company are much cheaper than new planes. The cargo sector is a very competitive one and the lower the costs the higher the profits!

ALOT!!!!!! The newer start-ups often had in excess of 50-100 million dollars, and that's just to start. And yes, slots are very expensive but the real problem is that there are rarely enough to go around.

RE: What's Up With This Vanguard Flight?

could be to move personel from one place to another, a lot of airlines have "flights" that operate at crazy hours to crazy destinations. they're used to move personel around and any passengers they can attract are just extra money. i believe that's the whole reason PSA started it's "Midnight Flyer".
