Interesting that ValuJet.com works, but Airtran.com takes you to an error page.
They only brand themselves as United, no need for UAL. Verizon Wireless doesn't brand themselves as VZW, but the vzw.com domain is owned and active. Delta still owns and re-directs nwa.com to their website. Just because a company does not use it for branding (obviously) in advertising, doesn't mean ...Jump to post
Great to see WN continue to grow, and a few more gates in D reopening. I know the airport will likely never see the traffic the old TWA hub had when I was a kid back in the 80s and 90s, but it's nice to see the airport experiencing some substantial growth for a change. I'll have to see if the exten...Jump to post
On the STL front, I don't see 'expansion' happening unless WN has a massive increase in service prompting them and the city to renovate D. They have been slowly creeping towards the end of E when they added 33 and 31. I don't know how much more their current 15 gates could handle. That would be int...Jump to post
Just missed 14 mil. Final number for 2016 13,959,126. Top 10 airports in growing capacity at 9.1% If we add in midamerica we can say its over 14 mil for the region though seeing some airports (like MCI, CLE, etc) have allegiant at their main airport http://flystl.com/Newsroom/Blog/tabid/422/entryid...Jump to post
I found this article out of the KC star. It is talking about MCI airport being on Trump's priority list for infastructure projects. Down lower it says Lambert is on it also for expansion. The word expansion seems weird as I would think it means upgrades, since it doesn't really need "expanded&...Jump to post
I just got back from DEN. Our outbound flight WN409 1/24 went out 1/2 full with just over 70 and the return WN4788 1/25 was about the same with 93. Pretty surprised that the loads on these were this low. Does anyone have the loads for the direct STL-DEN/DEN-STL flights on WN? With ski season in full...Jump to post
Getting back to LHR, I get the sense that St. Louis flyers are resigned to no non-stops, but I wonder how many of them can't stand the fact that they have to go through... Chicago ! :-) Other options besides ORD for us to get over to the other side of the pond :-) I avoid ORD like the plague. :faint:Jump to post
Surprised to see Delta join the party on the MCO route. WN has pretty much dominated that and with F9 as well, it will be interesting to see how this works on a Saturday only. CRJ900 too? I would be shocked if it lasted a year. BTW I am totally for city/county unification. It makes ZERO sense the wa...Jump to post
The naming of any standard US domestic storm is a contrived publicity stunt by The Weather Channel to attract attention. It all started a couple of years ago. With a Google search you'll notice most references to named storms (excluding legitimately named Hurricanes) are linked to Weather Channel s...Jump to post
With the approach of the ice storm coming looks like WN has cancelled most of their mid-day/afternoon arrivals and departures of STL. 9K has grounded pretty much everything already. F9 and AA have a few cancelled as well. With 1/4 - 1/2 of ice foretasted this is going to be a mess from today through...Jump to post

FAA issued a ground stop from tier 1 facilities. Delta flights enroute will divert or have diverted as the shooting took place in their terminal and people in the building have evacuated to the apron, closing all gates to aircraft. Unless the video feed is old, a/c are moving. A UA 737 just pushed ...Jump to post
Too many of these happening. Sad. Prayers to the injured and the deceased. I normally defer fact checking from law enforcement versus the media outlets. As far as plane type the NFL requires at least a 76 so all Delta NFL charters are either a 767, 777 or A330 Unless this is a recent requirement I don't think its true. The Steelers rarely take a widebody, typically they use a 757 or A321. I don't think you are correct. Is there a way we can lookup ...Jump to post

ValuJet was one of the largest turnarounds too. It went from crappy and unsafe to AirTran, a fighter against Delta. Was wonder how long it would take before someone brought up J7. After the 592 crash and the subsequent uncovering of the sub-par mx and corner cutting/illegal procedures, it had to be...Jump to post
Wonder if FOD damaged the engines and further made the situation even more dire? Overweight maybe? Common practice I hope not. The video of the "successful" take off is obviously not within legal safety margins. :( RIP! Was thinking the same thing about the engines ingesting objects. But ...Jump to post

Really hope this pans out! Getting there is such a pain now from the states. Have flown VN on a few domestic flights and loved them. Wow. Surprised to read this.
I found the last poll question the best. "Would you attend a wedding reception at Lambert?" Ha! I hope this works out but unsure it would be a success. Maybe 2x weekly? But since 57% of the traffic at STL in 2015 was on WN, and just about 20% was AA, I don't know.... It is obvious that Sla...Jump to post

Here is one that is headed over to either HAN or SGN
Was looking up my flight tomorrow and saw HVN98 (VN-A868) flying across Wisconsin. Looks like she originated in CHS and might be on her delivery flight. What is done to the 787 in CHS? Just curious. That is a long flight if they did CHS-HAN (7550 NM) or CHS-SGN (8161 NM) would assume that she will h...Jump to post
Very glad to see that this has finally started to unfold. It will be VERY nice to not have more than one connection for us to get to SGN anymore. Usually we have to go STL/SFO/ICN/SGN or even add DEN into that mix! STL-LAX-SGN will be great!!!Jump to post

If that tail number is right, here is the Ravn Alaska plane based off the FAA serial number .
Looks like she spent her early life over in SE Asia.
Sadly, five perish in this crash. Looks like 7H 3190 on 8/31/16. Not sure of the registration on the 208. Hageland (dba Ravn) has had a bad go in the past 4 years with crashes. I remember watching the TV show "Flying Wild Alaska" when Era Alaska was featured as was Hageland. Now all under ...Jump to post
That was an event for sure. After we pushed, 20 mins waiting to taxi out. Once we did, we ended up on the taxiway for 55 minutes shutdown before they re-routed us out. Sitting on the taxiway right now engines shutdown on WN1495 to STL. Seems that all West and North departures are shutdown due to weather. My personal wish list for WN out of STL would be: BDL PVD BUR CUN MEX PVR ONT But STL is one of those markets that seem to gain a few, lose a few with WN but who knows?
