Re: Who to pick for transfer in the Gulf region.

My experiences were a little different compared to the posters above. I must say upfront that all my flights were in Y and not F or C. AUH: Absolute horror to transfer, I have banned it in my itineraries. Totally overcrowded at the times I arrived. No gates, always remote postions with busses and ve...

Re: Circumnavigate the globe on a narrow body?

Usually, there is no complete transpacific narrowbody link. The island hopper ends at GUM and there is no further narrowbody connection to Asia at the moment. GUM has plenty of narrowbody connections to Asia, actually significantly more than widebodies. This week I can find: ⋅ Air Busan t...

Our guide around the Lake Aral (or what is left from it) in Uzbekistan said that they were able to buy unlimited air tickets for RUB 2-3 during the Soviet times. Re: How is Frankfurt Airport?

There is also something positive in remote stands & bus services. As an aviation geek I enjoy having another view of the aircraft from outside, and the busses usually drop you off in the most central area of the terminal, so you save quite a bit of walking vs. the more distant gates. Generally I...

If the seas rise, move inland. Strange logic. Are you aware that half of the world population live in coastal areas? Moving 3-4 billion people, large cities, the whole infrastructure is simply impossible. It is in fact much cheaper to fight climate change now, it is still 'affordable' (2-3% of the ...

Indeed, nothing beats seeing only things the regime wants you to see. Nothing. Walter Duranty, G.B. Shaw or H.G. Wells could tell you a story or two about that.
