Looking at the excellent photo of the ANA 767-300 on the home brings up this point Almost without exception these retro paint schemes (or a lack of them with AA) are far more attractive, clean and elegant than their modern equivalents Maybe this is a generational thing, I don’t know, but there are ...Jump to post

At least the flight wasn't cancelled and no one was involuntarily bumped.

Keep posting Woody. Wonderful photos and informative too. I've asked a few questions based on the photos you've posted, and I've received answers from this forum based on those photos.
WN has announced in today's schedule extension that it is going to be permanently discontinuing MKE-BOS nonstop service after January 5th, and WN also announced that MKE-LAX is going to be reduced to seasonal nonstop service after January 5th. Looks like the only reason I would ever have to fly WN ...Jump to post

I would use KMKE as my hub and start with a small, business oriented schedule to under-served or unserved destinations using small regional jets. Once I get that going, I would add popular vacation destinations, but use secondary airports. ( I got this strange feeling while typing this up that it so...Jump to post

This totally would have saved the program and DL would have ordered 100 of them for their ATL-India, CVG-Asia, and SLC-Africa routes... In all seriousness, if they felt that they could have made money doing so and and engine manufacturer could make money doing so, then they would have. They decided...Jump to post

The bird on the Etihad tail reminds me of Western's Wally Bird ads.
UA neither controls nor manages AV. In fact, they specifically put Efromovich's stake in AV under the former TACA owner's control to avoid this problem. That may not be correct. Control, as used in contracts, is typically a defined term that can be inferred solely by ownership. Manage would the &qu...Jump to post
The competing A220 orders have been small. 55 vs. 2, yet are enough to help sell for the next 12 months. Embraer cannot give up and wine about being a victim. Get back in the ring and sell! No one has mentioned the park across from the In-N-Out, Imperial Hill and the patio at the Proud Bird Restaurant by LAX. Not really at the airport. it's a good spotter place, but not really the official "airport" observation area if I understand? Otherwise a Macdonalds near the schiphol N...Jump to post
Apparently, AA is going to eliminate the oversize bag fee for sports and music equipment, as long as it fits in the weight limits.

Best: All things associated with flying. From going to the airport, checking in, getting past security, spotting before boarding.... you get the idea.
Worst: Leaving the airport.
Once these facilities come online, I could see things working out something like this: T1 (including new Concourse 0): WN (international arrivals still at TBIT?), B6, NK, F9, G4, SY T2+T3+North TBIT: DL + international partners T4+T5+South TBIT: AA + international partners T6: AS, HA T7+T8+T9: UA +...Jump to post
Tell that to the guys that work graveyard 5 days a week. Did it for 8 years before I got promoted out of it. M, W-Sa. Tuesday and Sunday off. I knew people that worked M-F graveyard. As long as the flight crew gets plenty of rest before flying this route I don't see an issue. I wonder if the same crews are assigned to this flight day in and day out? 1. This is one of the millions of lighting combinations possible with the LED lighting. Why are people complaining? It's not like it will be the only lighting used. 2. My predictions for focus cities: PVD CLE or BKL RIC AUS MKE Something near LA or SAN (Carlsbad or ONT???) Keep that 321neo away from MIA. It looks like a true "slave ship." Maybe with 20F I'll be able to clear the upgrade list. BTW, are there any more CR2s still in the old Eagle livery (think there's a few more E140s in the old livery). Anyone have an exact count on the number of MD80s in the...Jump to post
Yup that's Dougie at his best. Which is why US will be flying the 788s to places like CUN. Because they can no longer use them for LHR and the like. That's not the point. AA is using 788 to China and Eastern Europe. Hardly places that need 28J, especially when they're uncomfortable Zodiac Concept D...Jump to post
My guess is seasonal capacity. It looks as though they upgauged one of the A321 DFW-LAS-DFW flights to a 788 over the holiday season. As well as the 7 am departure out of ORD. I think the DFW-ORD 788 flights is year round (albeit 1x/day), at least through March (haven't had to check beyond that as ...Jump to post
