Re: DL CEO Says SLC-ICN "On Our Drawing Board"

wouldn't SJC-ICN make sense for DL, now that they are going to do it as focus city ? This is what I’ve been wondering. And it looks like KE is a partner, so DL could utilize the route without using its own metal. Wasn’t there a rumor a year or two ago about KE wanting to start SJC-ICN? As for SLC, ...

Re: Delta transitions BOS to Hub status, names SJC, BNA, and AUS as new focus cities

Seems like with Delta's definition of focus city, PDX should qualify. They have anywhere from 30-40 daily flights (depending on the season), connections to two major international markets year-round with a 3rd daily seasonal (LHR which is non-hub) and most flights to MSP, ATL, DTW, JFK are on 739s....

Re: Delta transitions BOS to Hub status, names SJC, BNA, and AUS as new focus cities

SJC opened a new interim facility with 6 gates to the south of Terminal B last week. Southwest will now operate out of the southern 14 gates in Terminal B and Alaska will consolidate into the rest of Terminal B. The news article I read specifically called out the effect this will have on other airl...

With the way things are going right now, if your favorite airport doesn’t have many cuts (at least not Max related), no news is good news. At SJC, WN cut back BNA but that looks temporary. The current scheme does look very nice, but the colors don’t say “United States”. The blue is nice, but doesn’t reflect the blue of our flag. The proposed scheme is red, white and blue, the colors of our flag. It makes sense. And the scheme isn’t gaudy looking.

I think it's hard for SJC to have a robust international schedule while UA has such a strong hub 1 hour drive away. SJC-IAD is certainly possible, but I more likely see UA jumping the gun on that route first.
