Interested to know what everyone thinks might have come from a merger between Pan Am and TWA, say around 1979 instead of National. For argument's sake, assume the government approved it. I think charging for water has really crossed the line. On my last BA flignt in January (LHR-VCE) at least the flight attendant remembered that I wouldn't buy it and brought me a cup of "free" water after the service was over.

It's not just the US; at LHR T5 all international arriving passengers (with the exception of Ireland I think) with connecting flights must go to Flight Connections where they are be security screened. 777. I dislike A350/787 style nose. Sorry, but the A350 looks like the 787s ugly sister as far as I'm concerned. Not even the mascara around the windshield can fix that awful profile. I always liked the 77W's looks, but there's something so graceful about the 787's wings in flight that is awesome.

When I was growing up, the DC-10 already had a reputation that made people want to avoid it, and that was before AA191 and UA in Sioux City. Having said that, I really enjoyed sitting in J on the MD-11, with its huge windows.

Pan Am from LHR to JFK, April, 1972. I was astonished at the size of the cabin. Much later in life, my first 744 flight was on CX, in 2001 I think. I loved the J cabin upstairs--felt like private club!
