RE: UA's First 787-9 Rolls Out Of Paint Hangar

As bland as the new UA livery is, adding that gentle wave to the gold stripe makes such a huge improvement IMO. I wonder why they don't roll that out to the rest of the fleet?

RE: United Brand Decay

Every time I see one of their planes I still think "Continental" (not necessarily a bad thing if only they maintained that level of customer service, which clearly they have not). Then I notice the bland UNITED typeface which looks like it was created on an Excel Spreadsheet, and on an essentially b...

What about just the blue field of "stars" pattern? It would be more subtle without the red & white stripes.

RE: YMX Passenger Terminal To Be Torn Down

I skipped through the documentary on Youtube (I don't speak French). I take it that the rail link was never built? Too bad as that may have made the airport much more accessible--could have made a difference.

Anyone who goes to JFK has the opportunity to see (albeit only from the outside) the most beautiful airline terminal ever designed, which is now sadly closed: the TWA Flight Center.

Must admit that this fantasy livery looks a whole lot better than recent re-branding efforts that marketing firms were paid big bucks to slap together (and that list has a lot more than just AA on it).

RE: Round Dome Lighting In 707 Cabin But Not 727/737

I can just barely remember flying on Pan Am 707's in the very late 60's and last in 1971 to Tokyo. I noticed that the ceiling color had change to white when they used to be sky blue. My last 707 flight was in 1980 on BWIA (with a much more colorful interior). I loved the dome lights, and the back-li...

RE: And Now We Are Down To Just 4x Pax. MD11

Had the pleasure of flying in J on Finnair a few years ago. It felt like the most spacious cabin I had ever been in: nearly vertical walls, huge windows--I loved it. Sad to see this plane fly into history.
