MSP-HND is an odd route. It runs high loads on Friday-Sunday and suffers the rest of the week. It did better to NRT even though HND is a much more convienent airport to Tokyo city center.

I'm surprised that YQT hasn't started. There used to be service between MSP-YQT for years. And it has a decent sized population and as it is now Canadians have to connect in YWG or YYZ. I think MSP could give them decent options.

The next targets for MSP are year-round FRA and PTY. FRA would do far better with LH than with DE. I believe that SY tried something in Panama, not sure if it was PTY, but never went through with it. I guess one advantage is they can use very short runways. So they’d be good for smaller communities that have large manufacturing centers and are distant from larger airports.

I suspect that FI isn't going to start a new (replacement) US location until things settle down. The KEF expansion did get a bit crazy for a while and now routes are dropping about as fast as they started.

MAC just dumped a lot of $$$ into MSP with building Terminal 2, and updating parking ramps and Terminal 1, plus building a hotel. I don't think they would now want to close and move further out.
