RE: 787 Production/Delivery Thread Part 33

Boeing announced that the runway the teens have been sitting on forever will reopen by July 2015. I figured that meant that they'd at least have them all at the EMC by mid year next year, but I guess they could keep a couple of them stored at the tower apron or on the south side somewhere. Or maybe ...

RE: Buckingham: Boeing To Terminate 747-8 Program Soon

Kind of a provocative thread to start. Investment firms say the damndest things, and they're usually wrong. Plus, all evidence from Boeing shows the opposite, as they've just improved performance and weight for the 747-8, and have talked openly about plans to improve the aircraft further. Not to men...

I'd rather it be an IL-62, but it'll be cool to see a Russian airliner with service to the US again. Sukhoi must be happy with this development.

Qatar is always lagging behind in 787 deliveries. For example, now they have the last undelivered pre-"line 200" 787-8 (not including early frames). They're always taking 10+ test flights per plane, sending them back to the EMC and into the paint hanger. Do they have legitimate issues with the plane...

I think it snuck out around the 13th or so. They don't seem to be rolling out on a strict schedule. It should be one every 20-21 days, but recently there've been intervals as low as 11 days and as high as 30 days.

LH will probably fly the 747-8I until its third D check, just like they flew the the 744s until their fourth. Up until around 2001/2002, 747 D checks were needed every five years, but Boeing extended that to six. So their early 90's frames went through two five-year periods (one prior to first check...
