You characterized and generalized British people as alcohol-happy simpletons who come to Spain to get hammered, be stupid and do "balconing," an attitude shared by much of the Spanish media. You are misinterpreting again my words. I was talking about MAN, not about "British people&qu...Jump to post
Sadly it is a reflection of a pervasive anti-British attitude amongst many Spaniards. Where do you see anti-British attitude in my comment? This thread is about Manchester and Edinburgh (both in the UK), and their differences. Obviously in big country like the UK there are many different places. Yo...Jump to post

This type of comment is regretful.
I can only hope it is not an honestly held opinion.
Edinburgh is a global tourism destination. Nobody in their right mind will go to Manchester on holidays. End of story. I’m American and I went to Manchester for a holiday; albeit it was just a weekend trip and I was living in Madrid at the time. I went to Old Trafford, the Football Museum, did a wa...Jump to post
Reroute SIN-IAH to stop in ICN instead of via MAN, makes much more sense distance-wise.Jump to post
After ORY, I think the next base is most likely to be FCO. IIRC, IAG has already indicated this. Beyond that, MAN must be a possibility. I'd be surprised if they came to UK. I think IAG sees the UK as BAs territory and as good feeding for Aer Lingus. Plus with Virgin and Thomas Cook does MAN actual...Jump to post

So exciting! Portugal is a hot destination right now with Americans and combined with the VFR traffic from the Bay Area and the Central Valley's large Portuguese immigrant population plus descendants and connections from UA domestic and to/from Spain, Italy, and France I predict this route will be a...Jump to post

They won’t do that unless they can convince regulators to move it to another hub. The slot is too important...
Opposite effect here; when I lived in Madrid I went to TLS partly because FR started flying there. If it weren’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have made it there and seen the Airbus factory for myself.Jump to post
Because those are not major tourist destinations for Americans, and have little business link with the US. Just because millions of Europeans vacation there doesn’t mean everyone worldwide goes there. Also just because millions of Europeans/Americans/etc. go to a certain tourist destination doesn’t...Jump to post

I'm in the category of "who gives a shit" Soccer is without a doubt THEE most boring sport invented. Sportscenter could fit 10 entire seasons into it's top ten moments and still have 29 minutes of air time to fill. Nope, and I'm American. America's national pastime is much more boring tha...Jump to post

In the past, it has run in mid-June, but was moved to May this year to problems with the excessive heat in Vegas during the summer (at least one person died of heat-related illness at the festival last year) Mid-June was fine and dandy when it was held in LA, but one badly-behaved minor who got a h...Jump to post

I've never seen Mallorca or Ibiza being a particular interesting tourist destination for North Americans, they're pretty much unheard of in these parts. Don't get me wrong, I think its a cool idea and the more destinations from Canada the better, but I just can't see the appeal for us. Lots of Amer...Jump to post
If marketed right this flight could work.
I’m American and I went to Mallorca last summer and many of my friends have been as well and loved it.
(disclaimer: I was living in Madrid at the time and so were these friends).
ONT is about 5 miles away from the LA County line so not that much of a stretch to be called an "LA" airport. People have to realize that there is much more to LA than the westside, especially when talking about the Asian communities. As stated many times, ONT is much more convenient to t...Jump to post

one good sized Mexican city that lacks consistent service to the US is CUL. I wonder why any of the US3, especially AA, don't fly there. 20 years ago, no one from China had the personal wealth to fly to Paris for a Chanel or Prada shopping trip. 10 years ago, a small elite group of wealthy people living in primary cities like Beijing and Shanghai can afford to do that. TG served MAD for a long time. I would think it might be viable for them to return with the 788 and with the Spanish economy recovering.
