Would 9W consider flying BOM-AMS-BOS or DEL-AMS-BOM using their scissor hub there? Or timing a flight that connects both cities with a flight to BOS? The reason why AI extended the Newark-Mumbai to Delhi was solely to add more capacity into this route without taking up more slots @ Mumbai. Expecting AI to let go of these routings in favor of consolidations is pure folly. Not everything revolves around the US.
