Still a couple days left for those who want to take EXTO and/or VSP. In a video call internally with employees the news is still rather grim, according to GK we are still thousands short of the number needing to be reached for voluntary means. Furloughs are a very real possibility come Oct 1st. I m...Jump to post

Well SWA is consistent if you are looking simply looking at basic air transportation. They don't over promise and their fares are usually at the lower end of the spectrum, My only poor experience is with last minute cancelations, and believe it or not, lost baggage. JD Power on the other hand is a ...Jump to post
I find it interesting that many people dislike how WN boards their flights. I for one am a huge fan of the “come on in and sit wherever you want” process. I always check my carry on because I know I won’t be charged and everything is just so seamless. They are my favorite airline. All they’re missi...Jump to post
I agree. I work for a magazine printer and we’re considered a essential business so we are up and running safety. Be careful out there, Tom. I see things very differently. Boeing going back to production next week is not essential. People's health is. People can survive financial hardship. Death is permanent. Boeing can and will survive financial hardship. If things get really bad eventually stock holders might get wiped out, but Boeing...Jump to post

FedEx will be flying an MD-11 from Anchorage to Manchester, likely full of COVID-19 masks, this Sunday. After offloading it will head down to MEM. This is being arranged for by inventor Dean Kamen, who’s good friends with FE’s Smith. Flight number is 9731. I was just thinking the other day about Mr...Jump to post
This affects a lot of airports and my guess is anything beyond temporary or if it gets abused will be met with swift political action, airports like BWI, IAD, OAK, SJC, ISP, SWF, ONT, SNA, BUR, LGB, FLL. B6 is temporarily suspending most of those with the obvious exception of FLL. Each AA, DL, UA D...Jump to post

Sound like there's going to park 200 more aircraft also.
I wonder if this means some cities will go dark for a while.

There just happens to be a L1011 in the air now.
Perhaps an idea - separate from the main COVID-19 thread - to offer up ideas how YOU would handle the pandemic. It is easy to criticize those who are in charge (bit guilty myself of that), so why not contribute something constructive? "If I was Governor, I would...." 1) Close all establis...Jump to post

Final part of the International T-100's for August, which is the Caribbean, many routes are 1 weekly or so, so I am going to focus on the multiples that reflect a larger population to work with. Last time they tried this, it went very, very badly. We used to do this all the time. Turn times on -300/-500/-700’s used to be as low as 20 minutes. 30 minutes and 40 minutes should be possible and realistically it’s the only way to get more productivity out of the current fleet. I agree about the front of the 757 the rest is fine just that nose section.

Someone recently posted either in the WN or New England thread the loads on the DEN flights from BOS PVD and MHT if I remember correctly PVD and MHT were both higher than BOS with that said not sure how the yields were on the PVD and MHT flights. I always heard that the MHT-LAS flights had good loa...Jump to post
Here is my theory. Other than MA, population growth in New England over the last decade has been pretty stagnant. BOS and BDL are the only two airports in the New England region than can support year round service to anything west of the Mississippi which is where WN has a lot of their strongest ma...Jump to post

In terms of WN from DEN - New England. PVD is definitely a strong possibility, PWM seems much less likely given how small of a WN station it is. I agree with your point regarding WN re-adding DEN-PVD nonstop service as the demand was there for nonstop service to PVD, MHT, and BOS from DEN back in 2...Jump to post
