Looks like so far no one is jumping in. But maybe less traffic at Long Beach means more traffic at nearby airports.

I think Delta & Southwest will fill the slots. I may be wrong, but I don't think Alaska will be in Long Beach.

The only question I have is how come there are so many slots? I thought they only had 4 pairs for LGA-DAL and 3 pairs for DCA-DAL VX successfully purchased 6 at LGA, 4 at DCA when AA-DL swapped LGA-DCA slots back in 2014. A bigger news is, AS plans to shut down DAL-East Coast flights from this fall...

And when it comes to EUG / MFR - DEN, why not have only one mainline departure in the morning and return at night. Then the rest of the flights go to SFO.

Fares are cheaper SFO - JFK than SJC - JFK. As time goes by, SJC will be preferred over SFO. Think congestion.

I would think "first class" would be a waste when an all econony class will fill all of the seats. Intra California flights are not that long of a flight.

As a regional pilot, I dreaded flying to SFO due to the day after day of delay programs. Must be even worse for passengers. Thankfully with my current job have not touched SFO for a few years now. Both OAK and SJC are so much better options operationally for Bay Area. Serious, everyone should avoid...

I bet a lot of people in San Antonio drive to Austin and fly out. But with the demand from Austin, it's good they have non - stop service to many cities. You don't need to fly to DFW or HOU just to fly to other cities.

Then why not have JetBlue Airways lease one jet, put it in operation for awhile and see if they really like the aircraft. If economics are not up to par, then don't order any.
