I guess the CVR ping function didn't work too well. Brand new airplane with a new CVR and there is no detectable ping? The search area is not that large, or deep. It should be found eventually, unless something more sinister is going on.

Lower than typical altitude last trip

I recently flew PBI to ATL and then ATL to MSY. Both flights were early in the morning and the first flight maintained FL25 the entire way. The second flight was at FL26. This is a bit lower than what I have typically seen, but I am sure there is some reason. Is it for traffic purposes? Weather?

Well the good news is that this particular issue will be addressed and hopefully make the max a safer plane. But as always, it's at the expense of a major loss of life. The question is, what other issues are potentially unknown.

It doesn't take much study to realize this plane probably should have been taken out of service until the problem was resolved. I wonder if the final crew had any reservations about the plane before this ill fated flight.
