Re: London Airports Thread - 2019

It was just a thought as my company has facilities in Rochester but I wonder if SEN would ever consider helping to subsidize a ferry across the Thames to Kent. I feel like that would make it a much more attractive airport for a huge amount of people SE of London to be able to avoid the M25 and be a ...

Re: Reuters/Norwegian Media: DY at Risk of Collapse

It’s sad reading all the negative things about DY on here. Why so many of you dislike DY? What did the airline and the brand do to any of you? I look at DY as the 747 of our time. DY made traveling cheaper for the average hard working European or American to travel. Before the 747 came out the pric...

I would say IAG sale is imminent. Not selling in the spring is going to come back as a very stupid decision as they'll now be able to pick it up at distressed prices.

I also think what IAG really wants is the 787 order book in order to grow more.

It doesn't look like they are laying off any pilots currently flying the 787. MAD-IAD would be a big potential market for IB in the US. DC has a pretty big AA Frequent flyer base, and lots of government traffic competing with the UA 757. And before anyone mentions it, yes, US government travel can use IB, so long as it's sold on an AA code. Everyone who does government travel...

Yeah, this pretty clearly seems like a play for QR to get more N. America - India traffic by using the US-EU open skies to not stir the pot for more US and Canada access. I think year round IAD on IB could be possible if they can find the gate space.

I could actually see KUL but it'd be a really strange route where the value would come from connections on either end from the oneworld FF base on each end rather than the rather low yielding direct traffic.

One thing that I think could be useful is getting a decent 787 fleet at IB. DFW-MAD is bolstered by OneWorld traffic. I don't think there are as many PDEW between IAH and MAD either. Is AA bringing back DFW-KEF since they ran the icelandic carriers out?
