Pilots receive training as regards to differences. The engines take much longer to start as they generally have a “cooldown” cycle of anywhere from 40 seconds to a full minute and a half. There are other limitation differences (weights, speeds, ECAM actions) and display differences (no EPR settings ...

Whew. 77W replacement? I think you're being a bit ambitious mate. Not ambitious at all. Three quarters of the 777-300ER's routes used by Air New Zealand the 787-10 can comfortably fly with the same passenger load. So on three quarters of the routes they will have a massive per seat efficiency gain....

Ironically, Pan Ams demise started with the 747s. They got too many which they could not fill, never recovered from that financial burden and in the end they were still flying those -100s while the competition was already flying -400s.
