October 7, 2019: KLM is 100 years old!

Today it's October 7, 2019 and so the day has come; KLM turns 100. On October 7, 1919 in the solicitor's office of Mr. H. Stoop in The Hague, the 'Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij voor Nederland en Koloniën' is established. Just before, on September 12, queen Wilhelmina gave the airline the title...

KLM's very first 747-400 (and Europe's first ever 747-400) will be soon gone. This was posted on Twitter yesterday; that's PH-BFA in the background getting cut up, earlier this month she still had her tail: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EFUPckjXkAEK92x.jpg Seen on this picture are PH-BFP, and if you l...

I am also an ADS-B feeder. About 2 years ago my son gave me a FlightAware pro stick and Raspberry Pi as a birthday gift. I started out with the small antenna like in your first photo, and the Pi hardwired and the small antenna sitting in a window. I upgraded to same antenna you have and mounted it ...

Collecting and feeding ADS-B data (to Flightradar24, FlightAware etc.)

So, are there any other members here doing this? I've set up a station more then 3 years ago. It began with the most simple DVB-T stick from Ebay connected to a unused Raspberry Pi that was collecting dust. Worldwide, there were 38.100.000 commercial flights made in 2018. That equals to 104.384 commercial flights per day. Interesting to note; Flightradar24 recorded 230,409 flights on July 25 this year (their current record I believe); but that includes non-commercial flights. EDIT: There's expected to ...
