Wizzair or Ryanair cannot fly UK-Turkey, as Turkey doesn't have open skies with the EU. Was discussed here before. only Easyjet can fly UK-Turkey as they have a UK AOC. I just saw a post on facebook saying TK flight from cape town circled for 2 hours because of landing gear issue. Airbus A330. Scary. This kind of stuff happen all the time. When Atlas Global suspended ops, they ended Zonguldak's only international routes. Since resuming flights, Atlas Global no longer operate to Zonguldak I know there are flights with TK to IST, but is there likely to be anything more ? Perhaps SunExpress ? They also suspended TBS flights two weeks ago, it was probably a last minute attempt at saving themselves. Flights must have performed horribly. TBS is a tough market out of IST though, too many airlines, the route is already saturated. The best bet for KK would be ADB, AYT and BJV ops, concentrati...

During a recent visit by the Malaysian Prime Minister to Turkey, Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen Airport, owned by Malaysian Airports, signed a deal with Malaysian Airlines for charter flights. The flights will also serve to gauge the viability of scheduled flights.

We expect more UK-Turkey routes to be announced by Jet2, TUI and Ryanair. All are conducting studies and talking to agents at the moment, also the Turkish Ministry of Tourism is actively involved. BA was just the beginning.

AC loads in IST were very good actually and there was a good cooperation between TK and AC for codeshare flights from IST to various Turkish markets like ESB, AYT and ADB as well as various TK destinations in ME and N Africa. I have been looking at JFK-IST "J" in November and TK is waaay too expensive compared to UA/LH.... $3400 vs. $2100 :( I'd rather spend that extra money on a one night stay in any one-stop city; like Berlin, Milan, London. And when did TK started requiring 105,000 miles for one way JFK-IST...
