Daxing was always going to be bigger than the new IST. I have no idea why they advertised it as the world's biggest in the first place. The approval for Daxing was given in 2013 and the construction started in 2014. So it's impossible that they didn't have the figures by the time the marketing star...

The real reason why El Al doesn't serve IST and AYT is that Turkish authorities have issues with Israeli security measures on flights to TLV and they do not want Mossad agents on the ground. They tried to get Israel to accept private security on the ground, but they declined, so El Al stopped flight...

Yep, El Al used to fly TLV-AYT before they had to stop all their flights to Turkey. Absolutely amazing load factors as well.

Currently, the routes that are flown from the new airport are in addition to the flights from IST.

So there's no connecting traffic right now.
