Re: RUMOR: SAA to Copenhagen?

Strong rumor doing the rounds that SAA want to begin operating to Copenhagen. Any more info on this? They already served Scandinavia through codeshares with SAS and LH from LHR, FRA and MUC. I don't see why they would cannibalize their already struggling European routes (particularly LHR) by doing ...

I think they're flying ADD-GRU nonstop now. ;)

No, they tried non-stop for a while but added the stop back (since 21 May 2016).

Re: some weird routes need to be explained

also i forgot to ask about GRU-LFW, why does ET keep flying that route? i mean i saw a video of this flight and the load factors were ridiculously low! i really dont understand who flies this route.does it only exists because of TOGO's proximity to BRAZIL? The route is ADD-LFW-GRU. ADD is a hot and...

Re: African Aviation Thread

JNB-LOS is currently mix of A343/A346...and possibly majority with A346 still, from October onwards it's still scheduled as daily A346. Keep in mind that SAA have earlier this year started 3 weekly JNB-ABV as well with A332, thus the slight reductions in LOS capacity. However things can change fast...

I see SAA also sticking it out but possibly reducing capacity

SAA have already reduced capacity by switching to an A340-300 from A340-600 on most days.

Re: South African's New A330-300 Not -200

Almost by definition any long haul SAA plane will get flown to Europe since that is the biggest market outside if Africa. Sao Paulo and Perth are small compared to Europe. The USA is bigger then those two but no where close to Europe in SAA's importance. IF SAA wants a plane for flying to Lagos the...

Re: South African's New A330-300 Not -200

I'm amazed at how few people actually read the article before they make comments. They have leased 5x A330-300. They will fly daily JNB-LOS-JNB, 4x weekly JNB-ACC-IAD-ACC-JNB, daily JNB-LAD, 10x weekly JNB-GRU-JNB, ad hoc to HRE, MRU and LUN, and several times daily on JNB-CPT-JNB. That pretty much ...
