Re: Air Canada buying Air Transat

Wonder if the A332's are better suited for mainline or replacing 763's at Rouge. At 345 seats, it's a 22% capacity increase over the 282 seat Rouge 763. Seems perfect for some high volume destinations like BCN/ATH/VCE but slightly too large for others. That's what I was thinking. There is only 16 o...

Reduction in LHR just b/c of BHX? If BHX demand is THAT big, CX would fly there already. Plus the demand to/from London is huge (large enough that CX fly an additional flight to LGW). Hell would freeze over before CX give up valuable slots at LHR in favour of adding a BHX flight. Meant to write LON...

I wonder if CX would be interested in a small order of the QF Project Sunrise aircraft to launch longer routes (eg: MIA, MEX, or deeper into South America) if there actually is a market, but not a large enough one to fill a 779. With the regional replacement, it could go either A or B. The derated 3...

In the original plan, there were two parallel runways and 8 parallel taxiways, or something to that effect in the first phase. Do other civil aviation authorities have an ops spec similar to ops spec 083 here in Canada where it's possible to file an IFR flight plan with no alternate (or drop the alternate for fuel reasons if it's VMC at the destination)?

If you wan to time a daily YVR-GRU-YVR to connect with a daily YVR-NRT-YVR, you would need at least 3 frames to operate both routes. The plane would need to sit in GRU for 12 hours (or so) in order for the return flight to connect with YVR-NRT. That doesn't make much financial sense, at least not w...
