Apart from Västerås which will close in 2022 if I'm not mistaken, the future of Ängelholm has been questioned. To those who say that the decline in passengers at Swedish airports is because Swedes have stopped travelling: In 2019 SJ had 34.3 million passengers, an increase by 2.5 million.

That can be compared to -1.2 million at ARN and -150.000 at BMA.

The Swedish government has now decided to expand the number of PSO-routes to make sure that domestic traffic continues. I haven't seen any details of the tender, but the routes in question are from ARN to Kiruna, Luleå, Umeå, Östersund, Skellefteå, Umeå, Örnsköldsvik, Sundsvall and Visby.

In non virus related news, the delivery of SAS' 2nd and 3rd A321LR have been delayed. The plan was to have the 2nd delivered in November but now it looks like spring 2021. Where it will be used will probably be announced in April.

The best use for SAS' 2nd A321LR is GOT-EWR, says Anna Strömwall, the airport manager at GOT. But I have a feeling she might be a bit biased… However, a route to New York is at the top on the list of the airport's most wanted new routes.
