The Future Of MSY

I think of New Orleans International as somewhat of a "sleeping beauty". It's full potential not yet realized, the airport needs to try to get more nonstop flights to Central and South America, and hopefully Europe. Domestically, nearly all major business and leisure cities are served nonstop, with ...

Delta/Pan Am Interchange, MSY-FRA

I heard somewhere that Delta and Pan Am did an interchange service from MSY to FRA, via IAD. The flight was either Delta to IAD and Pan Am to FRA, or vice versa. Also diff. crews for each segment. My father said he flew on a Pan Am 747 from MSY to Dulles in the late 70's/early 80's. Was this the abo...

New TWA Flights That Would Do Well

TWA should consider adding some flights into Central and South America, and possibly the Caribbean, out of MSY. If TWA added some connecting traffic from the U.S, a nonstop to Sao Paulo a few times a week could work(continuing to Rio of course), as well as larger cities in Central America. And twice...

My flight from BWI to MSY last night was on a Southwest 73G, an ex-BWIA aircraft, with blue seats and tv screens. It was really a neat experience flying on a WN plane with a totally different interior. It was my first time on the 73G.what a plane!

Which one do you prefer to take? I have been on a Delta 738 only once. That was last year on the ATL-MSY route. I was in first class, which I found to be quite impressive. But I did wander back into coach and it looked fairly nice. As far as the 320 goes, I have flown on two of them. Both were Unite...

On May 20th, I leave PVD and head back to MSY. I will be flying Southwest Airlines this time. The only real reason that I picked WN was to get on a 73G. My itinerary is as follows: 330P-BWI-830P(733 PVD-BWI, 73G BWI-MSY). Every time I fly Southwest I end up having a pleasant experience. Therefore, I...

It would be a GREAT hub for East-West Southern Transcon flights, connecting Florida and the Caribbean with the West(California, etc.). Also, perfect spot for flights down to Central and South America.

RE: New TWA Focus Cities?

Well, if MSY will be picked(50/50 chance I'd say), TWA should use the city's position to its advantage. Flights could come in from the west(Texas, California), stop in MSY, and continue to Florida and the Caribbean. LAX-MSY-FLL, or a route like that, would be quicker stopping in MSY than in STL by a...
