Anybody know why Airbus builds some aircraft, then gift wraps them for storage, only to pull them out of storage months later for delivery. It, N775XF, seems to be taking a long time to get out of GYR. Once it's out of there, CLT seems to take another month to get them into revenue service.

AAs newest A321NEO, N410AN, completed it's first flight today, Dec. 18. And aircraft N412UW, delivered on 11-30, is being ferried to PHX in preparation for going into service.

Does anybody know if AA has a policy of not flying A321NEOs to Hawaii for a certain length of time after new delivery? Seems like the earliest delivered NEOs are flying the majority of HI flights.

Word is the L-US B752 fleet is now going to have ViaSat wifi installed. Any confirmation on that? Half the LUS fleet has 2KU, and per JonNYC I understand the remaining five aircraft will also get the 2KU early next year. Does this mean that the aircraft will be staying longer than 2020? Half the LUS fleet has 2KU, and per JonNYC I understand the remaining five aircraft will also get the 2KU early next year.

No delivery flight scheduled for A21N N412UW tomorrow at all. Having only done one test flight, delivery has probably been moved back to a later date. Also, I guess E190 N950UW did not get retired as I see it has been back in service since 11/20. I did note an A321NEO delivery with two test flights...

What is the status of seatback IFE on the legacy LAA 319's? Is it still there or already pulled. How about the used birds they got last 2 years, specifically N772XF? The seventh former Frontier A319, now registry N776XF, entered revenue service with AA yesterday, Nov. 20. The eight aircraft is still in paint at GYR.

Anybody know what is going on with the guy who previously maintained the American Fleet Site. I believe his name was Rob Sheperd and he had a gmail address of dashtrash89? I sent him an email some time ago asking how he was, and got no response. The American Fleet Site has not be updated since June.

They only have nine 321Ns. Airbus had manufacturing issues and five that were supposed to be delivered this year are deferred till next year. True. But they started three Hawaii flights when they had 6 NEOs. With three more NEOs on board they should be able to fly one or two more Hawaii flights. I ...

It never made sense to get rid of the A333. Dougie has always talked about not having small fleet types. But, you only have 15 A332s, so what's another 9 A333s. They can't be that much different to maintain, are they? The A332s have Trent engines, the A333s have PW engines, so AA is looking forward...

No. I believe the two remaining to be N775XF and N776XF are still in prep. One is at GYR getting painted, other I don't know where it is. The one at GYR should be nearly ready to ferry to CLT for final prep before going into service.

So now that the MD80's are out, is there any word to the last E190 flight for AA? I assume that with AA owning the planes there is not an extreme rush with the 737Max stuck on the ground. Anybody out there have info on when AAs next A321Neos are expected to be delivered? N405AN looks like it's ready for test flights, but hasn't accomplished any yet. My understanding is there are six more to be delivered in 2019.

Good. I hope they manage to do more than 50 A321 this coming winter. At their current rate, that would not be possible. However, if they opened up multiple modification lines in a number of facilities, perhaps do-able I saw an article that AA is hiring 400 at TUL maintenance base. Some are 787 work...

While entirely speculative, airframe integrity should be easy to confirm by Airbus engineers, or other airframe experts. Wouldn't you think that would be the first action AA would take before undertaking any repairs...and before simply parking the aircraft?

I don't understand why AA leaves an asset such as A321-231, N114NN, (left wing dragging aircraft at JFK) in storage, rather than making a decision to repair it or scrap it. Does anyone know if is under research concerning what it will take to restore it to service? Seems like a lot of invested money...
