RE: International Flights: 2-Class Or 3-Class?

I prefer 3 class simply for price reasons. Business class is usually somewhat in the budget and 1st class is always out. I like the option of having a middle price.

RE: First Time On American!Any Comments?

I have found American to be one of the most consistent airlines as far as service goes. Seems the flight attendants are either in a good mood or at least try to be, and will do as much as possible to make your flight comfortble. STAY AWAY FROM THE BISTRO!!! Just kidding, they are not bad most of the...

Sounds like just a bunch of Codeshares to me from what I heard. All I know for sure is if the "official" announcement is made, the frequent flyer miles from one airline can be used on the others which is no big deal.

Happy B-day Airbus..I love the A-300. I remember as a kid, Continental flew them between IAH and Orlando and IAH and LAX. I used to love riding on those rugged airliners.

RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas

Jhooper, I have no clue! I agree with B757, that the admin. may just be out on a cloud. Who knows..I am not big into military aircraft, but it seems that a C5 is bigger than a 777 or does it just appear that way?? And B757..CLinton came via Helicopter from Elington, but did have the C5 carrying the ...

AF 1 at CLL made a full stop. The tail was like a shark going down the runway as it was easy to see from West campus. I stood outside the library lots for my job and watched planes all the time. And James you are right, I forgot about TSTC.

RE: US-Africa Direct Flights Before End Of Aparteid?

Mah and Mia, I recently flew SAA in May and was supposed to be on the JNB-CPT-FLL-ATL then noticed it changed. The reps at SAA told me that the FLL leg had been taken out permanetly due to low traffic and the trouble with the FAA. So I would be very surprised to see the FLL leg resume.

Well I do not know which one they use for the ranch. Perhaps San Antonio or Austin somewhere..At the time, Clinton was President so I am thinking he did not want to land in College Station with all the Aggie Republicans  Smile~!

JHooper...IT WAS AWESOME!!! It went just fine, takeoff and landing. They just decided on going into Ellington for security reasons from what I heard. The C 5's were a site to see as well, especially on takeoff...Just FYI DC-10's used to fly in pretty regular during football season as charters. Jay

Do not know what they used, but I was working at A&M when the library was dedicated. Air Force One did a trial landing to see how it would work. Awesome sight however they ended up at Ellington field. Also, they brought in 2 C-5A's. Never thought those planes would fit as well. Hopefully they did br...

Check out www.flysaa.com..It has the history of the airline. It actually states that the flights were reintroduced in '91 after being banned in '86. So it could have been possible depending on how late in the 80's it happened.

Later,

I have an armrest from an American 727. I was sitting in an aisle seat, noticed the armrest was loose and it just came out. Took it off and told the flight attendant when I got on there was not an arm rest. Don't really have that much other stuff.

RE: AirFrance: What To Expect?

Air France had to be one of the worst airlines I had ever flown. Perhaps they have gotten better in the 5 years since I was last aboard. I flew IAH-CDG, then CDG to Nairobi and return. Flight Attendants rude, food I got sick on, in flight entertainment horrible. Also from CDG to Nairobi, the smoking...

Yep, I really share the frustration..People always laugh at me when I get so mad when the plane changes..One example is from Cool Runnnings where the plane is an A-300 leaving Jamaica and then an MD-80 arriving in Canada..Granted AA did not fly from Jaimaca to Canada but it is still annoying...And w...

Hello, I flew JNB-VFA and return on SA737-200 in June. The airport in Vic Falls is nice..There are a few shops, a concession area and it is air conditioned. Hey, I do not know what it was doing yesterday but I was there last Sunday and it was following me in doing instrument approaches and touch and goes. I used to go to A&M and would watch similar planes come in alot to perform touch and go's...Perhaps they are just training the newest gov't pilots???

Hello,
I will be flying Business Class on SAA from ATL-JNB in the next few weeks. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the new Lie Flat seats have been implemented. I would also appreciate any info on how you rated the section.

Thanks,

Upcoming Trip ATL-CPT On SAA

Hello, I have an upcoming trip to Capetown on SAA in May. I am flying business class for there is no way I could stand coach for that long. I would appreciate any info on SAA's business class since this will be my first time to fly with them. I will give a report when I get back. Thanks, J.P.
