So what? You make it sound as though it's something bad. There's nothing wrong with communism as an ideology, it's just that there are problems implementing it in reality.
Capitalism, on the other hand, works 'well' in the real world, but ideologically is a piece of crap.
<b>Guns don't kill people. Dumb mother f****** with guns kill people. Last time I checked, there was no way to prevent dumb people from existing.</b> That's right, so the alternative to prevent dumb mother f****** with guns from existing is to get rid of the guns. Then you're just left with the dumb...Jump to post

It's funny how there's more condemnation from some membes on this forum of a girl entering a beauty contest bringing disrepute onto her (alleged) religion, than there is when someone carries out a terrorist attack in the name of their religion.

I read that some company was considering starting flights between Oxford and Cambridge to cater for the large traffic between the universities. It currently takes 3 hours or more on the road.Jump to post
The water level will decrease. This is because when the brick is in the boat, a volume of water with mass equivalent to that of the entire brick will have to be displaced to provide the extra boyancy to the brick and boat. As the brick is denser than water, this volume will be greater than that of t...Jump to post
Chris7217, thanks for the help! My e-mail address is [email protected].com If you do manage to obtain a President Airlines timetable, it would be an excellent addition to my collection of 50000+ timetables, some of which are displayed at <a href="http://www.timetableimages.com">www.timetableimages.com</...Jump to post
I am applying for a job which has the option for me to work in either Hong Kong, Singapore or Beijing. I like all three cities, and find it difficult to express a preference for any one of them. After long consideration I would have to put Beijing as the last option of the three, but cannot decide a...Jump to post
Thanks for the comments, everyone!!!
I will have to do a bit more experimenting, and hopefully get some shots into the database.
Glenn, why are soft shots better for publishing?
About a month ago I bought a Canon 300D. The pictures I get from it look very good, but perhaps not quite as sharp as they could be. In each case I am shooting with a zoom lens, Canon <acronym title="Far East Air Transport (Taiwan)">EF</acronym> 75-300mm, <acronym title="Far East Air Transport (Taiw...Jump to post
I have a collection of over 50000 timetables. You can see some images at <a href="http://www.timetableimages.com">www.timetableimages.com</a>. I'd have to disagree with Capt.Fantastic - some current timetables are very collectable, it just depends on the airline. Get an unusual timetable from Africa...Jump to post
According to justplanes.com news, Belavia have just leased a 737-500 previously operated by Mekong Airlines.
So this brings me to the question: What is Mekong Airlines currently operating? I know they suspended operations due to SARS. Did they ever restart? And if so, with what?
I've been considering Canon for the same reasons. Unfortunately, the top of the range, the Canon D1s, costs around £5000! It's nice, though, with 11.1 megapixels.
Probably the better alternative is the new Canon D-300, 6.3 megapixels, and should be under £1000.
I have many good quality slides shot over the last few years, but unfortunately no good way to transform them into JPEGs. I used a flatbed scanner at one stage but the results were dreadful. I managed, long ago, to get a few onto the database. Look at this Israir ATR 42 for example: <br><center><fon...Jump to post
Back in the time when the Samurai were important, there was a powerful emperor who needed a new chief Samurai, so he sent out a declaration throughout the land that he was searching for the best one. Thanks for all the advice, guys!
Great site you recommended, by the way, Pilothighflyer. I think this will answer most of my questions.
I am planning on buying a digital camera. As far as I am concerned, quality is more important than price, although less than $1000 would be nice. Basically, I would like to be able to take large pictures at high resolution, and also have a good range of optical zoom. These are the two most important...Jump to post
I agree, collecting timetables at airports these days is next to useless. Anyway, I'd have a problem picking a favourite amongst my 50000 or so, but here are a few rarities: Air Koryo, of North Korea <img src="http://www.timetableimages.com/i-bc/choson1.jpg"> Cathay Pacific from 1953 <img src="http:...Jump to post

Is aven a commonly used swedish word? My swedish is only basic, but I had never heard this word before, and it is not in my swedish-english dictionary either.
P.S. stuga according to my dictionary means cottage as well as cabin.
I didn't try to lick my elbow, and also I don't give much credibility to many of the claims here. <b>A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why.</b> What rubbish! An Acorn Electron.
It was like the inferior version of the BBC, but it was good for games anyway, and I even programmed some myself.
Anyone remember Chuckie Egg, Repton, Arcadians, Jet Power Jack, Frac, Mousetrap, just to name a few games I had!?
I think it's a shame you have that attitude towards 'communist' China. The fact is, China isn't really communist any more, but the political system allows such plans to go ahead quickly without the timewasting that goes on here in Europe everytime someone wants to add a runway to an airport, or buil...Jump to post

Actually, I don't find it to be true that all hot girls smoke. But probably the reason that many do is that they are very concerned about image, and smoking is part of the 'cool' image. But I think intelligent girls are less likely to smoke, hot or otherwise.
The pronunciation of ㅅ depends on the vowel following it. If it is ㅣ as in 신몬 (newspaper), then it is pronounced like <b>sh</b> so newspaper in korean is pronounced <b>shin mun</b>. On the other hand, if followed by other vowels, it usually has an <b>s</b> sound, so for e...Jump to post
