I am not a frequent flyer on US but I do not think those "Choice Seats" have any extra leg room or service, just near the front and cost something. I never pay for them and they always look as ordinary as any other seat on board.

I believe that you have to rebook by the original booking date, thus April 25. You do not have to travel by that date just rebook. I believe the tickets are valid for one year from date of ISSUE, not date of travel.

The Novotel is expensive. There are several small hotels within 10 minutes of the airport with shuttle service. Google hotels at Bangkok airport. I do not know if they have day rates, but they are not that expensive.

Make sure that whatever hotel you book, it has airport transfers. It is not always a part of the deal, and sometimes you have to pay for the shuttle.
