UA Cut Flts 20% Worldwide

UA announced a 20% cut in schedule worldwide. Does anyone have info on what routes/desstinations/flights will be cut?

I am sure they feel they have to do this. I feel sorry for the employees who will be laid off because of these cuts.

I have done it just for the heck of it, and also to obtain miles in the FF program (UA) to maintain 1 K. I have done several times:

PHL-SFO-PHL (somtimes overnight)
PHL-IAD-LHR-IAD-PHL ( Generally one or two nigts in London).

I think it has to do with the American concept of service. We have a different outlook, more equalitarian then say European or Asian. They see themselves in "service" mode, Americans do not. We are all there "together".

Really good stories. They make the drudergy of flying more enjoyable. I guess some passengers would complain about some humor, but it is nice. I like the first one about the UA gate agent. Great way to handle the passenger, peer pressure!

I have flown F on several airlines including the picture LH and SQ. NO COMPARIOSN when F is on the main deck. LH is nice on the upper, but much more cramped feeling then the rest on the main deck.

I travel to Peru often, but generally fly north to Trujillo not CUZ. I generally take Aero Continente. I have flown all of them except TANSA. Actually service and on time performance has become much better. I think any would be fine. I thin to CUZ they only fly in the morning due to altitude.

The airlines can promise all the "extras" on this plane as they did with the original 747. They had bars, and pianos, etec. But like the 747 the airlines will just cram more and more seats into the plane. They do not care about passeneger comfort, just profit.
