Good info, thanks. Thai is not happy with SQ being in the Star Alliance, but there is NO comparison between the two. SQ is superior. Air New Zealand is a nice airline, but not a vital part of Star Alliance.

It would be a great way to start your honeymoon. Wish it would work. I have been 1 K with UA for several years and I have NEVER received a complimentary upgrade on UA. Lufthansa has, but NOT UA! Wish you luck, but with UA, no not even 1 K get upgraded, only UA employees.

I know an airline that "taxi's" without any engines going. Aero Continente in Lima, Peru tows the plane by tug to the runway and then starts engines, to save on fuel.
