UA will not grow in the Latin American market until they add some Northeast USA routes too MIA. It is very difficuly to get to MIA from the major northeast cities. Obviously they are extremely large potential markets, but if u can not get there from here ..... you lose the pax.

At PHL you can go to the top of the parking garages and get a full, total view of all airport operations. However at EWR you will see more and varied planes, including more international airlines.

At PHL you can go to the top of the parking garages and get a full view of the entire airport. Nothing is unseen. However, I think EWR might have more intersting planes, more international airlines, more planes overall. I do not know about spotting at PHL.

They dump the fuel because the plane is too heavy to land with a full load of fuel. The landing carriage might not take the weight.

SIN is a GREAT airport! If you are into plane watching, try any window or the terrace ( can be humid). You can get a shower in the transit longe. There is a cinema on the upper level where SQ flies out of. I really LOVE SIN!!

Besides a weak feeder from the south of US, United has very poor connection between the northeast and its Latin American hub in MIA. I was in their C class in January JNB-DUR-CPT-JNB and it was great! Their service, meals, etc are always tremendous. Whatever the pitch is, it is BIG! I have never taken to or from SA, but their domestic service is wonderful.

I believe they refused to take up those rights during the days of apartheid becuse their non white crews could not even stay in the same hotel as the white crews.
