I would rather fly an airline with old but very well maintained/updated/clean aircraft (NWAC) then one with new but neglected ones ...
I think they need an alliance / world wide network partners badly in order to fill there aircraft in a more profitable way Oneworld (AA), Star(UA), Sky Team(DL) and Wings (NWA and/or CO) each have overlap in the East Any of you hub/network experts , what would be the best / least damaging solution f...Jump to post
But swiss, or better Tyler Brûlé, didn't aim to have the best, or the most colorful livery, but they want to be the best airline in terms of service quality. Oh no, not again the Swissair strategy ! Perhaps the (rather arrogant) BA strategy to only focus on high revenue, business oriented passengers (a beautifull airline for beautifull passengers) has made a hard landing since mid '01. I think Eddi is bringing in some reality, forced by corporate accounts & down to earth business passengers. ch...Jump to post
My opinion on PIA is based on observations I don't dare to put on the net and have nothing to do with inflight service.
BTW I have had very good service from NWA in-flight (WBC) & ground staff.
uhmmmmm, -nice handy sponsored waste bags hanging at your seat, - reliable entertainment system, - a noise eliminating hat to put over screamimg baby's, - smile frames FA put in their mouth before entering the cabin, - miss SkySmile surveys for the best/worst crew member onboard, - BigBrother Galley...Jump to post

I think NWA, Co, KLM, Alaska, Keynia and China Southern are all relatively financial strong airlines. They could strike a good deal. I think partnering up with Malaysia, Malev etc. is a different story. However other alliances do it. Thai, Korean, Alitalia, Iberia and other weak carriers are in alli...Jump to post
flew on KLM and DL 767 to ATL. liked KLM better. They have overhead tv's all over the cabin. DL had old seats and hardly visible projector screen in the front. Seats are 7 abreast in economy which makes them relatively wide. 6 Abreast (mostly) in business class which makes them relatively narrow. I ...Jump to post
I think for small rich country's such as Singapore, Emirates and the Gulf states, state owned Flag carriers are real FLAG Carriers. They spend a lot in showing the world that they offer quality, grace, power, whatever, to attract business, improve image etc. It's like the small grey guy with his shi...Jump to post

Let's hope it is not Lufthansa Technic that decides what comes into the aircraft. LH aircraft would quickly become multi media playgrounds. I think NWA is very down to earth, it's all a matter of cost's. They will look for the most economical solution (including everything) to fill in their network requirements. Internet in the sky needs large bandwidth, that is not there at this moment. It will cost billions to put out satellites around the world. Bigger traditional carriers offer world wide connections, cargo services etc. Low cost carriers are focussing on most profitable city pairs only.
