I believe ending MSP-HNL was originally planned when they started it. Was to be summer only. I might be wrong, but that is what I recall as I thought it was strange to run for the summer only.Jump to post
Wow... I dont think HNL is a good idea for them Why? To me, this is a clear indication that their LAX - HNL has been working well. Any idiot and his idiot brother can fill seats out of LAX. That means absolutely nothing Hawaii from the WC is "cheap." I use cheap when compared to DL in MSP...Jump to post

Oct 10th: TPA-MSN 12:25-14:20
Curiously, MSP does NOT have a TPA flight on 10/10, nor can I find the connecting dot for TPA-MSN. It's not STL or DFW as they will run on the 12th (DFW) and not until Nov for STL.
Pre-cursor of more for MSN tomorrow?
Well, we know today's announcements. Curious what tomorrow has. The article titled "Sun Country to start flights in St. Louis and Madison, add more at DFW — but none fly to MSP" (which can be found at http://www.startribune.com/sun-country-to-start-flights-in-st-louis-and-madison-add-more...Jump to post

Now that Tuesday's announcement seems to be cleared up, what about Wednesday? Speculation?Jump to post
Interesting new strategy for SY. I'd be curious to see what the next cities added are. Also curious how they will be getting the aircraft to these routes? MSP-TPA-STL-TPA-MSP type routing? Or is there more to come? Probably. I can't see the STL flights yet, but MSP-TPA arrives TPA 10:48AM and leave...Jump to post

DAL-MSP more than once a week would be nice. lol Yep. Is it gates at DAL, gates at MSP, or both? I would think DAL and LAS should work well for them at MSP. WN currently operates out of gates H10, H11, H12, H13, and H14. WN currently does only 25 departures a day out of MSP, and WN does have enough...Jump to post
This extension is only to March 6th. Spring break will be on the next extension which is how WN normally does this. SOME north/south flying will be in this one, like MSP-RSW for spring training in February. Jplatts - good luck with that LAS-MSP prediction. Just like DAL not sticking around, LAS won’...Jump to post
With MSP-HND, DL can fly three flights to Tokyo from US cities in the East and Central time zones. If the HND slot is moved somewhere else, that 70% LF likely goes somewhere else too, with a good portion of it going to competitors. The 70% LF may not be generating a lot of money, but it is still be...Jump to post
Good, they should take the opportunity to end MSP-HND at the same time. They only average low 70% LF for 2017. 70% LF is making money if Cargo and Business are full! MSP picks up a Saturday-only MCO flight. No return of LAS, DAL. Decrease to just 3x DEN which has been 4 or 5 even.
Edit: versus Dec 2017, MSP goes from 23 departures during the week down to 21. Basically, cuts to DEN (-2) and BWI (-1) YOY. OAK is the add over last year.

I get they "could" but there is nothing to substantiate your comments, other than a dartboard guess. That's not how Southwest works, IMO. I agree with your point, but WN has recently expanded its domestic operation at HOU. WN will also be extending HOU-CMH nonstop service to daily, year-r...Jump to post
Anyone heard of any legitimate MSP rumors? I am not aware of any legitimate MSP rumors, but WN could add MSP-SAN nonstop service in order to better compete against AS at SAN. System wide roll-out of bag self-tagging? That's what I said earlier today on here. Nobody has bit on it but that is one thing. Looks like jetBlue has officially announced that its first 320 from refurb is out flying. Based on SBA, I wonder if we will see FAT next summer, based on the facts that: 1) FAT has more than 1.5x total US pax than SBA (close to 2x including int’l). 2) FAT has higher PDEW to MSP, mostly owing to the large SE Asian diaspora in both cities. 3) SY could advertise FAT as “Yosemite.” 4) FAT h...Jump to post

How is SY handling aircraft/crew rotations? With the old model bring MSP (and somewhat DFW) centric, crews and planes were used on turns and day trip missions. Outstation RONs on scheduled trips were rare so hotel, per diem and ground handling costs were minimized. Is this still the case? SY has 27...Jump to post
