I did some more digging at the MSP adds. DAL is Sunday-only. Seems strange. OAK does not start until mid-July, instead of June. Is this when Hawaii will start up? Arrival in to OAK is 9:35 AM. Possibly, unless they add another extension for the remainder of August 2018, next month in December. I do not recall the typical extension timeline, only that WN typically carries a certain number of days inventory for sale.

I can't speak for the others, but I personally see little growth by WN in the near future at CVG. I highly doubt they will ever jump on CVG-Florida/DEN/LAS, there is just too much competition. PHX is probably the most likely add because DL does not serve it, otherwise, there is not much left for WN...

I think it would be interesting to see the #2 airlines in each state. This would eliminate the hub impact. i.e. MSP = DL at about 70% of passengers.

When WN opened up MSP, they only flew to MDW. I remember that was the talk of the town with WN since they only provided flights to one destination, which at the time was an unusual practice for them. Thanks for the Top 50 list. Sad to see my MSP so low though. Likely to see a continuation of the standard schedule of roughly 23-25 daily departures. I guess we could possibly see MSP-LAS go more than Saturday-only. More aircraft joining the fleet replacing 733’s?

Frontier will certainly lower fares vs. Delta and while PVD is a backup to BOS, 11 daily flights into BOS will not be impacted by F9.

DL has a high market share. I'm honestly not sure I'm looking at the correct data, but for Q2, I'm finding they have 52%. Compared to other city pairs to/from MSP, that's not ideal, but I'm sure that is due to the amount of competition already being discussed on MSP-BOS.

Good assessment, but SY might lose some of their current clientele when they shift to ULCC model. They will pick up others (Spirit), however.

I think we can't forget about SY on the MSP-BOS route. It will be interesting to see how they hold up in this one as a ULCC. Currently running about 3x daily as well during the summer.

Montana is well served by Alaska and Delta. Probably no room for additional carriers.
Alaska, I could see, IF Southwest wants to go at AS via SEA, but AS is clearly pretty well entrenched.
The Dakotas? Wyoming? Not happening with DEN, SLC, MSP connections.

The biggest problem WN is going to face with their BYOD strategy in these long markets is what happens after someones iPhone dies after 3 hours with no power outlet. Won’t make it from MSP without a connection. I’ll hope for a one-stop, same plane via any CA coastal city. Except WN would have to serve MSP to the west coast first. All these new service plans are taking away growth at my Home airport!

I meant for DL. There is very little to no competition in SLC (see: sun country, spirit in DTW, AS in Seattle) which means SLC averages the third highest average ticket cost of any city in the US.
