Re: OAG Changes 8/6/2017: UA Brings Back ORD-PNS; AA Exits MSP-LAX, Expands SLC-PHL

Southwest will have room to expand at LAX after Terminal 1 renovations at LAX are completed next year, and Southwest could add nonstop service to LAX from MSP since Southwest is still growing at LAX and since demand for MSP-LAX flights has significantly increased during the last 5 years. Years away...

Re: OAG Changes 8/6/2017: UA Brings Back ORD-PNS; AA Exits MSP-LAX, Expands SLC-PHL

I'd be surprised. I believe both UA and AA launched this route for corporate contracts that AS may not have. I am a little surprised that MSP-LAX couldn't support five carriers: DL, UA, Sun Country and Spirit in addition to AA. But yeah, if AA (#1 at LAX and with a growing list of TPAC connections)...

MSP is one of the largest markets out of Houston that is not served nonstop from HOU. MSP has a unique combination of high wages but lower cost of living. The weather sucks in the Winter but is great the other 8 months of the year. Additionally, for MSP, noting a reduction of one DEN flight but adding a PHX (4x daily, 5x weekends). +1 additional MDW as well. Basically, MSP will be at 24 flights per day to 10 cities in March. Higher numbers for the weekends with the FL flying. Will be interesting to see if LAS sticks beyond Mar...

As predicted, MSP sees the same as last year, although TPA is 2x Saturday's. LAS also returns. Will be interesting to see if this time it stays, instead of being a 5-6 week flight only.
RSW and MCO also made the cut again.

I am curious about NCA132 being diverted from its normal NRT-ANC-ORD today into MSP. The flight path appears to have had it already to mid-Iowa when it re-routed to MSP, so it would seem unlikely that either mechanical issues or fuel would cause the diversion. Weather at ORD also seems unlikely. Wh...
