There is also a skyway connector between C and G at MSP, so if you arrive on a CR9, for example on Concourse C, you can drastically shorten the walk to connect over to International or other Domestic service on G.
It's really not that bad.
**Seriously, why is it so DARK inside MSP? And why are the halls so long and winding? Ugh. MSP is a mess. I will pay extra or fly (a little) outside my preferred schedule to connect @ DTW and not MSP. [/quote]They only seem long. ATL has longer unassisted walks. DTW had nearly identical potentially...Jump to post
Finally MSP-LAS! Hopefully it will be made year-round and grow. Also, I don't remember MSP-PHX being 4 daily. I remember 3, but not 4. Now if MSP could get DAL or HOU. Texas/southern connections are limited as it stands. Best I could tell, however, is the MSP-LAS route is seasonal, according to the...Jump to post
i just went to the southwest route map and clicked on dullles did not see any thing yet does that mean we not getting anything? As mentioned before they will post everything in their blog. You will not see it on the route map this soon. I saw MSP at 7:30 AM Central. Would imagine all cities update ...Jump to post
I think the posted numbers are off. I thought DTW was in the 530 range as recently as summer 2013 or 2014. I am indeed sceptical. According to these numbers the DL/NW MSP seats per day have fall from 57,961 in 2005 to 40,682 last year, no one could imagine that. The airport handled 37,663,600 pax i...Jump to post
Interesting from the WN Flight Schedules page: "On November 1, 2016 we will open our schedule for sale through June 2, 2017. This date is subject to change. Please check back frequently. Currently we are accepting air reservations through April 24, 2017." However, if you attempt to book, y...Jump to post
new here joined this week but always have read the swa schedule releases on here! question is it like every 6 weeks they release a new schedule roll out? Timing varies. I think it depends on what part of the year they are releasing. Example: Previous to tomorrow's release, the timing was about 6 we...Jump to post
I'm curious to how things would have played out had NW not built the McNamera prior to the merger. It's interesting how DL flies to more cities and flies more passengers from MSP, but is less of an international hub than DTW. You have made an excellent point. More passengers, and I believe fewer RJ...Jump to post
anyone know if will this schedule will cover Memorial Day weekend 2017? really hope they bring back iad mdw so i can connect to Nashville next may. really hope we the grow dulles more and compete with united and frontier Only through April 24th this time. https://www.southwest.com/air/flight-sc ......Jump to post
No offense to the WN fans in MKE, STL, DTW, etc., but if the route you seek from your home airport is not served via MDW, or even DAL, slim chance it will come to fruition. Those are priority airports, and STL/MCI/DTW/etc. to BUR, BZE, BOG / etc. are not in the cards. At the same time, however, I d...Jump to post
FAQ More cuts. Amazing they can keep their gates. *VX DAL-LAX DEC 4>3 *VX DAL-SFO DEC 4>3 Agree. Has WN or DL stepped in with that argument? Probably a dumb question, but we are recognizing it in this forum, so one would think the airlines fighting to obtain or keep gates would argue for something....Jump to post
Any idea how Portland is doing? Per this press release, Portland has been quite a success for the airline: http://www.icelandair.us/news/story/ice ... nd-oregon/ - Extended season, with flights almost year round - Increase from two to four weekly flights - Expanded partnership with Alaska Airlines ...Jump to post
MSP-BNA, PDX-BNA would be good additions for both markets. Would be nice. Any actual truth behind them? They've both been speculated for a bit. Especially PDX-BNA. That flight is long overdue. The biggest holes for WN to fill in Nashville are MSP, PDX, and MKE. I honestly think we could see those s...Jump to post
Rumor the last couple of rounds also included MSP-BNA. Again, MSP is opening 4 additional gates this fall. Expected that SY will take H1-H7. WN will take H8-H12 (increase of 1) and the last gate remains to be seen. Would love to see LAS added as wnflyguy mentions is rumored. As for MSP-DAL, also was...Jump to post

Interesting information I ran across this morning. According to this MAC document (likely from earlier this year), they indicate that SY could potentially hold gates H1-H7 with WN having H8-H12 (H12 with minimal use). There is a plot of 4 A320's using H13...F9 possibly? See page 10: http://metroairp...Jump to post
FSDan - Good info to the conversation. Thanks! Indeed correct about an increase in mainline (lots of MD-90s..lol) and Delta needed to move CR9's off of C over to A/B. Plus, that gives the airport a better overall utilization. E-gates are packed and in time, something will need to give there as mult...Jump to post

http://metroairports.granicus.com/MetaV ... a_id=16875 Hope the link works for all of you. As you will see from the MAC (Metropolitan Airports Commission) data, seats for the 3rd quarter of 2016 are expected to be up over last year, same period for Delta. You will also see departures are up YOY, but...Jump to post
Slightly off topic but worth bringing up. I'd also suggest that JetBlue should jump in on starting MSP. With 3 new gates opening in terminal 2 it might be a great opportunity to snag a gate up before there gone!:) As a MSP resident, I have been trying to find out what MAC plans to do with the gates...Jump to post

N932WN (which I might have been able to confirm if the clouds had not been in the way today) The primary location for Southwest to have their fleet repainted seems to be the aforementioned Geiger Field; does anybody know if there are any other locations where the work is occurring? I can confirm N9...Jump to post

Interesting info on the non-daily flying option in the schedule building. I suppose that may also help with the draw down of 733's from the fleet while not replacing one-for-one? Additionally, this schedule release goes through March 7th, so the next one typically goes through early June, I believe....Jump to post

MSP opens three new gates at Terminal 2, expected in October. Nothing has been officially announced for WN or SY who both use T2. (SY has added already this year utilizing current space).
So I wonder if this new schedule will impact MSP with the new gates, similar to BNA as previously posted.
I enjoy reading the rumors of schedule extensions and potential new service, even if they do not come to fruition. Southwest will extend its schedule to March 7, 2017 on 7/7. Since this only covers Jan/Feb, I would not expect to see too much. We could see some of the seasonal, Saturday-only service ...Jump to post
