Re: What the heck is going on with American Airlines?

I am asking this question because i don't know the answer. If you look at B6 VS AA JFK to DFW B6 has no direct flights you have to layover in BOS both ways and no Saturday service. AA has 3 Nonstop flights. So on this particular route how can B6 worry AA ? I know this is only 1 route but for B6 out ...

Re: NK coming to ELP?

This might be a little off topic but how much competition can NK give WN? In Phx they have one flight a day to DFW (As an example). It leaves at Midnight and arrives at 5:27 AM. How much of a threat is 160 or so seats a day? At a totally crappy time.

Re: What the heck is going on with American Airlines?

LAX has grown significantly since the merger and PHX has slightly shrunk. It’s not going anywhere, but it’s not getting larger. There is also virtually no trans-Atlantic growth. All the additions are replacing something. AA cut a lot of trans-Atlantic routes at the same time of the announcements. I ...

I live in PHX and find AA to be a great Airline for all of my destinations including TPAC. PHX fills an important roll in AA's hub system. Around 50% of all traffic is O&D. Roughly 950,000 Pax a month use AA in PHX. About 425,00 a month are connecting passengers. DFW has only a slight higher am...

Now don't take this as anything other than a "geographic" comment, but theories regarding de-emphasizing PHX due to its closeness to LAX alone is not the real threat, it's the combined proximity to monster hub DFW - 700nm East and LAX (to a smaller extent) - 300nm to the West. So a ? has ...

People generally don't pay for F in many cases so it makes sense to tighten up the pitch. After all, what do you really get in terms of a recliner F on many flights as if the flight is under 2 hours you don't get much in terms of space benefit or the benefit of a meal as many carriers won't serve a...
